All-Time Cowboys

I wasn't really sure whether to post this in the general forum or the Roster subforum... I chose here because I'm not making a roster file, just one team. I want to make an all-time Cowboys roster, but I need some help on who to include. The order players are listed is the order I was planning to have them on the Depth Chart (mainly relevant for QB/HB/WR/CB)

QB- Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman
HB- Emmitt Smith, Marion Barber, Tony Dorsett
FB- Daryl Johnston
WR- Michael Irvin, Drew Pearson, Terrell Owens, Alvin Harper, "Bullet" Bob Hayes
TE- Jay Novacek, Jason Witten
C- Mark Stepnoski, Dave Manders
G- Larry Allen, Leonard Davis, Nate Newton, John Niland
T- Flozell Adams. Erik WIlliams, Rayfield Wright, Ralph Neely

DE- Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Charles Haley, Tony Tolbert
DT- Bob Lilly, Randy White, Leon Lett
OLB- DeMarcus Ware, Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson, D.D. Lewis
ILB- Ken Norton Jr, Lee Roy Jordan, Dat Nguyen, Zach Thomas
CB- Deion Sanders, Mel Renfro, Everson Walls, Kevin Smith, Cornell Green
FS- Cliff Harris, Brock Marion
SS- Charlie Waters, Darren Woodson

K- Nick Folk
P- Mat McBriar

EDIT: Bolded names have been added thanks to suggestions from others.

Re: All-Time Cowboys

Even as a 49ers fan I couldn't help wanting to chime in on an All-Time team.
From my perspective I figured I would post an All-Time Cowboys roster I would least like to face. Keep in mind I am talking about a team unit and not just a list of the "best cowboys ever." For example; While I don't think that Marion Barber is the 3rd best cowboy running back, I think he provides a talent at that position that others don't. Also, While Emmit Smith is the All-Time leading rusher, I'd be more afraid of Tony Dorsett as the starter. Lastly, are we talking about players who just happened to be Cowboys at some point, or how good those players were as Cowboys? For example: Zack Thomas isn't "All-Time" good in Dallas, but he is FANTASTIC MLB in regards to his carrer In Miami.

QB: Roger Staubach, "Dandy" Don Merideth
RB: Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Marion "the Barbarion" Barber
FB: Daryl "Moose" Johnston, Don Perkins
WR: Michael Irvin, "Bullet" Bob Hayes, "T.O." Terrell Owens,
TE: Billy Joe Dupree, Jay Novacek
C: Mark Stepnoski, Dave Manders
G: Larry Allen, John Niland
T: Rayfield Wright, Erik Williams

DE: Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Charles Haley *doubles as a OLB*
DT: Randy White, Bob Lilly, Chad Hennings
OLB: DeMarcus Ware *doubles as a DE*, D.D. Lewis
ILB: Ken Norton Jr., Zack Thomas, Lee Roy Jordan, Dat Nguyen
CB: Deion Sanders, Everson Walls, Cornell Green, Mel Renfro
FS: Brock Marion
SS: Darren Woodson

P: Danny White
K: Mike Vanderjagt

Go ahead and question my kicker Mike Vanderjagt all you want, He played POORLY as a cowboy but was a very good Kicker in Indy untill the end of his carrer. He is the kind of Kicker that has worn a Cowboys uniform that I would want in his prime I would fear the most, make any sence?

Also, for those that don't know Danny White [yes the QB] was the feature Punter for Dallas whiel he was there. It made the defense/special teams play softer because any Punt could be a fake. Danny Kicked 610 punts from 1976 till 1988 with an average distance of 40.2 ypa.

The idea of swapping Ware and Haley around in various 4-3 and 3-4 Scheems and having them float around pre-play is scarry.

Yea... after Emmitt and Marion, I just drew a huge blank. The first other HB of note that came to mind was Walker, but as soon as someone mentioned Dorsett I felt really stupid for not thinking of him first.

i know it was just a first effort but it makes me smile that you have 11 players from the 2008 team that couldnt even crack the playoffs...for an all-time team of a franchise with 5 super bowl titles, 8 conference titles & the most playoff games in NFL history. not to mention rocket ismael has one 1000 yd season & avg'd 3 TDs per season. a #3 deep receiver should not be on an all-time team IMO

and roy williams was cut in the prime of his career-- can't be on there

i know it's just kicking but a 2 year pro vs an undrafted free agent who is currently inactive, played for 6 teams in 7 years and has zero notable kicks, records or achievements either on any of his own teams or league wide. there have got to be ten better kickers.

just trying to help you out
