360 Patch is live!

"I can verify that the patch is live. It is live.

The changes are pretty subtle, so I wouldn't judge it by your first games with it. With the changes, any slider sets you are using will need to be altered, because the game has been made faster under the hood.

The biggest things that help the sim game are one timers in front being mostly redirects now, more pinning, collision detection on defensive stick sweeping, and movement changes. And goalies not doing frequent diving pokes really helps them out."

So, it wasn't me imagining things! I thought the game speed was noticeably faster, skating more fluid, board pinning much easier and frequent, stick collisions better, defensemen turning improved, and a looser overall feel. Very awesome news.

Hopefully positive feedback from this will prompt 2k to patch the PS3 and Wii versions.

Yeah, I haven't played the patched version yet with mine. I was trying out DJ Neo's which I had also played last night. Definitely a surprisingly noticeable improvement. The only thing I think that will have to be adjusted initially is the skating speed. The patched version is significantly faster.

played one game..... calgary at nashville (me).....

calgary d-men didn't back up like idiots at all. Don't wanna get my hopes too high....but it's promising so far. Will play a bad team next and see what happens. Hopefully they hold up

the better pinning also adds a lot to the game.

That is promising coming from you Riz, as you pretty much had the same opinion as I did pre patch. O6 when you get some time in and update sliders toss me a pm if ya would be so kind.

Played it at a friends house, not too impressed. Goalies were still flopping all over the place.. can't say much about the controls since I'm not used to the 360 controllers. Who knows it may be better but the sliders probably need major tweaks right now because with the default speed I was skating into the offensive zone with NHL09 ease. The animations did seem less choppy which gave the players less of that ant-like feeling, but I didn't see any improvements in the defensive play.

So don't fret fellow PS3ers.. you're not missing too much (in my opinion)
