Defensive Linemen tipping passes

This has been a very prevalent thing for me. I should say that my defensive linemen have not once, in my memory, tipped a QB's pass. The CPU is very efficient at doing this, however. So efficient, that the moment you press a receiver's button, they jump up and block your pass. I have three highlights of this bullcrap happening, all in one game's half. It pretty much only happens when throwing bullet passes. Its especially prevalent when receivers are wide open, which makes me believe its some sort of crappy built in compensation for me lowering the coverage slider (its been more prevalent since I did that) because the man coverage in the game was too good. All three of the following vids are attempted throws to a wide open WR.

Pretty run of the mill tip there.

This as well, but with an INT to sweeten the deal, as well as scolding from Herbstriet for "throwing into coverage". I'm sorry my main man, I wasn't aware the linemen included the coverage even if a receiver is wide open.

This one is hilarious - a D LINEMEN is in zone coverage yet manages to get high enough to block my pass. LOL!!! What a joke.

I cannot be the only person having trouble throwing bullet passes. Anyone else getting ANNOYED by this? It reminds me of Madden 10, before they patched it, when a QB would get hit while throwing he'd throw a terrible duck about 3 yards long and 5767 yards in the air, which inflated INT numbers. I CANNOT be expected to lob every single pass. That is just bullcrap.

probably happens 3-4 times a game to me, my defensive line is yet to get a single one in about a dozen games.

funny how random occurrences (tipped passes, penalties, fumbles, recoveries, drops) all seem to benefit the CPU exponentially more than the human.

If you control lineman - which I do most of the time - you can get tips based on timing. I have only seen 1 or 2 tips that were not from my effort. So if you are playing LB or DB I can feel your frustration. It is too bad that we don't have an option like in NCAA BB where you can 'coach' specific activities during TO's. I would coach up the line to put their hands in the air!

No you're not the only one seeing this, I'm seeing this as well.

I should mention, as you can tell by the video's side bar showing the game's score, it severely hindered my offense.

Re: Defensive Linemen tipping passes

I am with you. It happens way to often. It might happen occasionally in real football, but not very often. The thing that gets me is it happens half the time when I am not throwing a bullet pass. I'll throw a high lob pass and somehow the trajectory is so low or these 300 pounders have such hops they can knock it down. Very annoying.

Re: Defensive Linemen tipping passes

I must say I have not had the problem. I tip plenty of passes and I don't see an inordinate amount of tips going the CPU's way.

I will admit that I usually always play as the Defensive line so maybe I have more practice with teh timing. I have to say though that I have had no passes intercepted off of a CPU Defensive line tip yet this year in NCAA 11.
