Stadium realism: Attendance

Wondering about SCEA changing the attendance in many stadiums across the leauge.

I was playing a franchise with the Florida Marlins. It would be much more realistic if the stadium attendance reflected real life figures. I would like to see an empty stadium at Sun Life stadium to add to the games realism. But The MLB licensing lawyers would probably not want to have empty stadiums in the game.

ANy opinions on why SCEA doesnt display the realistic attendances for alot of low market teams in the leauge?

I saw a real game on TV in Tampa Bay and the attendance was 11,000 and change ! That was wild.

I could be wrong, but I think the last couple of years the Expos (remember them?) were in Montreal, they were lucky to draw HALF that.

It would be very frustrating to play in the world series and draw 10,000 fans, pretty much eliminating any hope of a substantial profit for the season.

Re: Stadium realism: Attendance

As it should....the in game attendance is to reflect how YOUR franchise team is doing....and the draw of your opponent.
To mimic real life attendance would be a little bit of a let down if you took the Marlins to the W.S. and the draw was 15,000, don't you think?

In my D'backs franchise (57-38 1st in the division, the Dodgers are 3 GB), I usually draw 30.000+ fans.

For the "big market team", it is (nearly) sold out.
For the teams in PO race too.

As Knight said, it reflects how well (or bad) your franchise is going.

Re: Stadium realism: Attendance

Like everyone else stated, the attendance in franchise mode reflects your team's performance.

I've had exhibition games online where the games were played in front of near empty ballparks in PIT, FLA & CLE to name a few. I remember one game playing at PNC, Athletics @ Pirates, and the attendance was around 10,000.
They did a great job with this as far as I'm concerned this year.
