Anyone JUST getting the Show now and franchising?

After a ps3 hiatus and playing MVP on the wii, I am grabbing the Show again and starting from scratch.
Oh how I missed you.

Its the pennant race now and what better time?
I figure I can get [with occasional simming] a few seasons deep before 11 drops.

I mean, we all play it through the winter anyways, right.....right?


So am i the only one just getting kicking on franchise or the Show [for a second time] in general?

I started a new franchise with the new roster update yesterday. If your hooked to the internet and get the new roster and updates it will be a little crazy. In my 1st season (which I simmed) there were ton of trades. Big names getting shipped all over. If this will bother you use 30 team control and veto the trades. The game is great and the franchise mode is amazing. I love building my team. I use the Indians so my budget is always a problem. The original set up of the game, the Indians teams had way too much money. It seem to be corrected in the new update, atleast for the Tribe. I don't use 30 team control because I think the randomness of the trades is one of the most realistic things about this game. If your a low budget team watch out for giving good young players longterm contracts that you still control. They add up too quick and you will be over budget even though it seems like a good deal. I won't give any one over a 2 yr deal that doesnt have enough mlb service to be a free agent I think low dollar teams are more fun. Good luck

I just picked up the game a few days ago to finally give the series a try.

I first looked at starting a White Sox franchise and wow, there's so much to do. I absolutely suck at the game still (deciding on when to swing at a pitch and the baserunning in particular), so I'm thinking I'll learn that stuff through RTTS and just sim the franchise.

The PS3 is connected to the internet at all times, so it automatically patched to version 1.12 yesterday when I put the game in -- does this mean I automatically have the latest roster update? And if so, when I start a franchise, is this "current roster", "default roster", or are they same (assuming I didn't manually make any trades)?

No. SCEA does not have auto updates yet. You have to log on to sports connect at the main screen menu on The Show. Make sure you get it. The roster are dramatically different, as I am sure you know, from March when the game came out. Sony will most likely give you a PS3 version update also. This is not rosters, its just a format update.

I'm starting a new franchise tonight because my The Show game data got corrupted somehow so now i have to delete all my The Show data and start EVERYTHING from scratch. In franchise I had been playing, I was in June 2011 and i played 98% of the games. At least now I'll have something to do.

i figure by starting now I can get pretty deep into my franchise 1st year by the time news comes of the next game.

if it doesnt have anything substantial, i can then just continue my 10 franchise.

I just started playing The Show yesterday as a matter of fact.

I was going to post... Is the fatigue factor still there. Or should I raise everybodys Durability, I think it was a couple of years ago?

Fatigute is still messed up, but it doesnt effect players performance.
