Another example of broken BCS logic

My dynasty final top 3 standings after conference championships:

1. Alabama 13-0 (CPU)
2. Ohio St 12-0 (CPU)
3. Texas 13-0 (USER)

Ranked teams OSU beat vs. final rankings: #24 Penn St (8-4)

Ranked teams Texas beat vs. final rankings: #10 Nebraska (10-2), at #7 Texas A&M (11-1), #22 Baylor (9-3), #19 USF (9-3)

Anyone want to try and make sense of this one?

Simple. The BCS is full of dumb crap in real life. They simulated that pretty well.

The BCS is full of crap but only because it doesn't offer every undefeated team a chance to play for the title (see LSU, Utah, etc over the past several years). However, the actual formula itself does a pretty good job of factoring in schedule strength...unlike the EA forumula which doesn't seem to apply it at all.

Similar thing happened to me. With Oklahoma State I started the year number one, went undefeated and won the b12 champ game over #6 Neb, and get pushed to number #4 under USC, Bama and tOSU. There are 6 ranked teams on my schedule at the end. I go the fiesta bowl, win over 12-0 Utah to finish 14-0 but since I didn't win the MNC get fired because I didn't meet all the goals . . . .

I think the game uses player ratings to determine strength of schedule. Perhaps, overall, the schools that the other teams played had better players(regardless of how well they were playing). It's still silly.

not so much a case of realistic suckage. would the AP ever demote a #1 team in favour of a so-called trendier team? or demote a #1 team just so the season doesn't finish with a split NT? the answer to both is no.

i think the cpu logic is it likes blowout wins against ranked teams, and even against half decent unranked teams the cpu likes blowout wins.
