NCAA 12 MUST HAVE A RANGE RATING! OFFICIAL THREAD

NCAA 11 is great. With that said Locomotion is hit or miss.It lacks fluidity players dont move naturally after picks or user catches its almost always a complete stop. Back to the topic

Positional speed or add a rating that calculates speed in space.Lets call it RANGE .Dequan Bowers is very quick... for his size but not fast in space. he operates in a roughly 15 yd box where his speed is key for his POSITION. So many safeties are slower than him by number rating in the game. This is wrong.Unless they scale it to POSITION.

If a safety has 80 speed rating within a scale of skill players. Then u have something. That means hes not elite but he has Good Range or speed in space.

There are freakish athletes out there and they should havr high ratings in SPD ACC AGI and the new attribute RANGE.

once again im tired of seeing players control a DE and cover recievers downfield effectively just by strafing. Its crazy and infuriating. How many times do we see LBs or other defenders dive out of desperation because theyre gassed and out of their Speed Range hence a breakaway.

I believe this plus a proper speed threshold can do wonders for the game with the Locomotion.

Lets push for this for 12 discussion starts now

I LOVE THIS!! I HATE when a random dude online drops a DE into pass coverage and can keep up with my slot receiver who has 93 speed and 90 acc(numbers not actual, just example).

what is annoying? speed is a huge factor in any sport but everyone isnt that fast or speed would be irrelevent...and unlike the game speed burst does run out in real life

Maybe they could tie in ACC with stamina

It's already to dang easy to score on this game no matter what level. I just wish they would add the weight of the player how the speed at witch he is running effects tackles and ect... Momentum in other words.

On this game a big Rb can run over a LB just because he has a high truck rating. That's not realistic.. If a LB comes in at full speed and the RB is slowed down the Lb should win that battle most of the time.

I like the momentum idea.

I can't really understand what youre trying to say, but you seem enthusiastic about it. Is a range rating like a "class" or "level" of speed the players play at? So, a player with top range and 99 speed would be the fastest in the game, but ratings like that would be reserved to a small quick guy?

I think a "range" rating should be inversely related to the weight of the player. The higher the weight, the lower the range is...or the lower the cap for the range is. You SHOULD be able to make a very fast OL player...but he can't be as fast as a very fast WR. I don't think that we need a range rating--we just need a player's mass to matter and affect his ratings. Have an invisible speed class depending on the weight. It would really make different players play different without having to deal with the player liscensing thing.

Momentum is a great idea

But range like a DE with 85 SPD 80 AGI 90ACC with 40 range means after pursuing a play after 15 yds or so hes out of range. With the current ratings 85 spd is 85 regardless of position...To me a fast LB cant run with a DB its rare.
Even on a pro level for example as fast as Clay mathews is he wont be matched up with say TJ houshmanzedah Even if TJs a possession guys its a mismatch because the longer he will be in coverage the more seperation is a result.
LBs and DEs in space is a mismatch on outside skill players period. The range rating would reflect that.Julius peppers is a freakish athlete but if u ask him to cover a RB or even a TE in man he becomes more of a liabilty.

RANGE rating would mean a 90 SPD LB would not run step for step with a 91 spd slot guy on a deep post based off of pure math.what seperates most OLBs and SSs is Range and ball skills.Like wise most corners are extremely quick and agile and most FS may not be as quick but have more range to cover halves or the whole field on plays.

Like CFs in baseball have the most range out of all out fielders.
