FIFA 12 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PC)

Starting a thread on the PC version of the game.

Perhaps members can post a brief synopsis of their 'gaming rig' and what graphics settings they are taking the game to? I am currently sitting on the fence and waiting for some more in-depth takes on the PC version before I commit to a purchase. I do like what the PC versions have brought to the table in general. For example FIFA 09 for the PC saw a terrific add-on in the FIFAMANIA CLASSIC 90 PATCH.

If there is a PC only thread I have clearly missed it (sorry). I did see some write-up on some 'Available on Origin' type thread. However I wanted to ensure a place for discussion on this year's PC version of the game. There has been much write-up that it should be the 'same game, same features' across PC/360/PS3.

If this should be closed, please provide a link to the appropriate and active thread. Thanks.

FYI, I bought the digital download version for my PC. It's everything the demo was, no surprise there. Funny, I'm always disappointed by EA games after I purchase them. Everything in their games is so anal and so limiting -- can't edit players faces, names, etc.; limited editing capabilities with CPU teams' formations, etc. The gameplay is so smooth and the game looks terrific, but after the creation freedom of the PES series, FIFA is like a game created by developer sadists.

I have a laptop with a Core I7, 8 gig of RAM, with a top of the line graphics card (as of 8 months ago). The game plays super smooth, unlike FIFA 11 which stuttered miserably and had serious issues in that department.

Looking very forward to any and all mods that open up the editing capabilities of this game, gosh!

Playing very well for me. I got the demo for my PS3 but I was set on getting the game for the PC because of the mods. Now, I'm basically waiting for people to open the game up and improve the game in ways EA can't. Still, I have a feeling I'll spend most of my time with PES.

It's very nice to know that they delivered on their promise of having it be identical to the console versions.

Any of you guys care to share mod sites?

Google FIFAMANIA, it's an Italian site with an English translation link. Also FIFA EVOLUTION, and another is SWEETPATCH.

I would love to see more complete mods like the 'Classic 90's Patch' for FIFA 09, that was basically a brand new game / skin running over-top of the executable.

Today my new PC AMD 1065T 6 core, 6-GB ram, is limited with the stock ATI 4200 video card. I plan to upgrade this system over time so I can rediscover racing and football games. It's safe to play FIFA 12 at minimum settings, so I may just end up getting the PC version this year.
