Using unlocked teams in Association

I have looked around and perused the forums, but really find an answer to my question. I am awaiting my arrival of the NBA 2k12 game (Amazon.com mailing it out to Australia).
I am wanting to know if it is possible to take one of the unlocked teams and use them for my Association team. I am mulling over using the 85 Hawks or the Alonzo Mourning led Hornets.
I see lots of info about transfering the legends into Association. But is it possible to use the entire team in Association?

if you want to just use them just pick custom league like the last few games and replace a current team (most ppl just take the current version of the classic team and just drop them)
