Possible solution for fastbreak speed?

I don't have this game yet (still waiting for updates and rosters before I get it), but I've read a LOT of complaints about players not being able to outrun anyone when they're on the fastbreak.

So my question is this: Could editing player HUSTLE effect this?

In the NBA, a lot of the times someone scores on the FB, it is because the defenders in pursuit just give up and don't go all out. So wouldn't lowering the hustle rating for players reflect this? In my understanding, a lower hustle would mean a lower frequency of players going all-out on every play, ESPECIALLY on FBs.

Has anyone tried this in their roster edits?

Re: Possible solution for fastbreak speed?

nope

the only thing that can currently fix this situation is do what I used to do basically for all the NBA 2K and Live games year after year since speed and quickness was always an issue...

I would always pick 5 teams I know I would never use, and would go in and edit every single one of their players and put their speed and quickness down to below 50...
and then I would play those teams pretty much all the time... this way I was realistically able to beat people as opposed to the superhuman quickness and speed they usually posses....

I dont know why 2K12 it's even a worse problem than last year, I know it's always been a problem, but this year seems like it's off the charts, like you got guys rated 40 speed catching up to 90+ players in the open floor it's crazy!

Interesting.

But have you tried changing the hustle rating? If it had no effect on this, then I would have to seriously question what that rating even does.

And I'm sure the reason that speed isn't much of a factor is because people would complain too much if it was! Just like they do with Madden.

no, hustle is simply whether your guy will leap out of bounds to catch a loose ball or not...

has no meaning on how hard a guy is willing to chase you down on a fast break

So hustle has no effect on, well, what hustle actually means? That sucks!

i think hustle impacts the effort players excerpt on sprinting back on defense and also running the wings on breaks. i find in my association that JR smith is always jogging, rather than running hard, back on defense and he isn't involved in nearly as many fast breaks as L.R. mbah a moute, even though luc runs PF on my team.

Re: Possible solution for fastbreak speed?

it needs fixing bad. I just had the cpu Deandre Jordan (speed 53, Quickness 45, hustle 64) run toe to toe with Derrick Rose (Speed97,Qickness 99, Hustle 90) from one end of the court to the other end of the court. Someone should tweet Ronnie about this.

They have hidden code specific to J.R. to simulate his distaste for doing anything without the ball in his hands.
