This most important stat should be implemented in the next installment

I look at my stats after most games that I loose more than the ones I win just to see where I went wrong.
I see that I would have:
More assists
More shot attempts
More blocks
More fast break points
Still a lost in rendered in my play through.
CPU would have:
Better field goal percentage
More three pointers made
More rebounds
While playing through the game I would notice that CPU also makes alot of shots that are contested. I would suggest it was just me not playing good enough defense. Wrong, I play great defense. Turning on shot quality was my best option. With my great defense CPU would make more shots rated at a lower grade than I would rated at a higher grade. I came to the conclusion that defense is nothing against CPU unless you block the shot because they will make anything. While in return the CPU doesn't even have to contest my shot and I would still miss. I mean they will literally not jump or put there hands up and my grade drops from an A to a B. Its like them just being there is enough for my consistently perferct release point to miss. Is it shot contest or momentum taking place I don't know. I would like the average shot quality to be a stat for both sides individually. If it is there somewhere in the stats let me know.

Proximity of opposing player lowers shot quality, hands up lowers it a lil more, block (y) lowers it a lil, more, aggressive block (RT+y) lowers it a lil more. That's how it works, you can lab it.

The CPU makes more shots contested and all open shots bc it's release is perfect about 90% of the time. While you may think your release is perfect bc of the green shot release indicator, that indicator is very loose with it's accuracy. It only says late, good, early. So when you shoot and the indicator is green there are varying degrees of you shot release. It will go in wide open almost always in the green, but when contested the release becomes much more sensitive and you must get closer to absolutely perfect to drop it (depending on the proximity of the player making the contest, as mentioned above).

You just have to lab your shooters, watch them as they shoot and release with players in various positions around you and pin point that release down. Then you'll be making buckets just like the CPU does, the ones where you cant understand how it went in. Just remember even a perfect release wide open shot wont go in all the time and crazy contested shots will once and a while, even in the nba it's like that, you make a percentage of your shots and can increase that percentage by making sure you learn the perfect release.

Good luck labbing (lab on HOF)

I thought difficulty factors in but your explanation was good.

Oh ya of course your difficulty provides you with the first base of how precise the shot release needs to be, didn't think that needed mentioning considering it is the "difficulty" setting, but you're right should have included that as well at the very top of my post. Good look

If you mean player stat, then it should be strength. No way can Steve Nash knock down the like of Andrew Bynum or Dwight Howard down.

off ball movement for me a single stat should be implented i dont think as of now it separates the best off ball guys from the lousy ones.

Also the injury/durability stat should lower overall as well i mean if you have low rating here it should reflect on FA,Draft day and trades.

e.g. Greg Oden in FA gets minimal deals because of his past injuries and low durability rating. right now in 2k12 Oden commands up to 8-9 mil a season and thats just not realistic at all.
