Looking for suggestions

Hi guys, I just got the game the other day and have played for about 1 hour. I skipped the 2k12 game but played a decent amount of 2k11. I only play by myself in association mode so take that into account when/if you reply.fficeffice" />>>

I am writing this to ask for some team suggestions for a guy who really does NOT have a favorite team in real life (I will likely pick my team based on what arena I most want to play at regularly which was either Lakers , Bulls or Thunder in 2K11) as well as uniform colors. Yeah, I know that is lame to most but that is how I roll. I do have certain players that I enjoy playing with based on their appeal in real life. So what I am asking I guess is for some advice based on guys I list and don’t list that provide the best bang for their buck long term in fun factor. My team skill level will end up being ranked typically somewhere around 5th to 10th if it goes like NBA2K11.>>

For what it is worth, in NBA2K11 I just could NOT get into the big men at all. I would end up selecting/trading for big men who could rebound and defend only. I just did not enjoy pounding the ball down low and found the post moves boring and fun enough to warrant much talent in the post. However, in my 1 hour of gameplay so far, the post play seemed a little better.>>

Guys I like: Durant, Howard, Curry, Allen, Ibaka, Jefferson, Lebron (for his diversity) and others. Seems like the pick and roll is good/fun enough to perhaps build a team around.>>

Simple questions I have for those who have played a bit already?>>
1. Which position do you prefer your 3-point threat to come from this year?>>
2. Is a guy like Dwight Howard that fun to play with long term?>>
3. Do you find yourself running a lot of plays this year or more pick-n-rolls?>>
4. Are the slashers/cutters the dominate players again like in 2K11?>>
5. Does defensive rating against the PC on the second to hardest level on DEFAULT really matter? In 2K11 it didn’t seem to matter much.>>

Thanks>>

1. Big man, PF or C. Really spreads the floor!
2. Dont know, but should be fun though if he fits your play style
3. Both honestly
4. Depends who the cutter is..but not all are equal
5. I'd say play on Allstar, Pro is little to easy Superstar the CPU has a bit too much boost to it

Hope this helps

Take what players you like and design your playbook accordingly. Dont worry about what 3pt threat is at whatever position.

Re: Looking for suggestions

I think I am going to start out with a big man. It seems easier to score inside this year than 2K11 did relative to outside.

The biggest decision I have to make is if I want to run with Durant. Right now I think I might. If I use him I can rotate him at the 4 position as well and get that spread floor feel that you talked about above.

I think I will get a utility PG who simply passes the ball around and plays D. If I have Ray Allen, Durant and Howard on the same team, there wont be enough basketballs for another shooter.

Yea the CPU will always show "attention" to Durant because he's a superstar. Plus you gotta remember he'll have to D up the 4 as well. Just a heads up, let people know that your not looking for realism on this board (D12, Durant on the same team) they can be pretty rough

If you want a big that can space the floor go for a guy like Spencer Hawes or Bargnani. Guys like that, who can also rebound and be servicable

I don't/won't play enough to care about being realistic. Just not enough hours in the week for that. Plus I don't have a favorite team so I would rather play with guys that I enjoy following a little in real life and maximize my gaming experience when I play.

As for Durant and Howard not being realistic on the same team... are you kidding me? The Lakers and the Heat would laugh at a team with only 2 superstars on it! LOL

Re: Looking for suggestions

So this is what I am thinking for my season:
trade Kobe + Gasol for Durant + Ibaka
trade MWP for Ray Allen (maybe a 3 way trade or something)
my bench players including Jamison for roll players like BRICK WALL PF/C, etc...

thoughts?

Starters
PG - Nash (although very good chance I trade him for a lessor player)
SG - Ray Allen
SF - Durant
PF - Ibaka
C - Howard
Bench - strictly role players who are non scorers. looking for brick walls, rebounders and defenders

Remember that I am only going to play a single season so when/if judging my trade only consider a single season, not multiple seasons where youth would really matter.

Re: Looking for suggestions

Ok, scrub that team I listed above. I got to play about 2 hours yesterday and there is no need to play with a jacked up super team in this game. Since I am certain that I want to play with my favorite player Durant I believe I will simply go with the Thunder and acquire Ray Allen to the team. I will likely trade away Westbrook because I don't use the PG in that manner.

So my question is with my downgrade at PG does anyone have any suggestions on someone to get so play at the 2/3 position. Since I run 95% of my offense through the 2/3 positions I like to load up on 3 scorers in that position for rotation. Both Durant and Allen can play the 2 & 3 with Allen being the preferred 2 and Durant the preferred 3 so I am in the market for a 2 or 3 guy to fill in. One obvious pick is to reaquire Harden.

Any other suggestions are welcomed.
