Madden 09 or Madden 05 for Original Xbox

Which game has the better franchise mode? I know that after a certain year, there was a problem with awarness ratings decreasing each year. Has anyone played both these games and that can give me some insight?

I havent got that far yet but im playing 09, 12, ps2
04, and 08 for the PC when I get deeper into franchise ill see, I do know that the gameplay is better on the older gen though

Madden 05 Franchise was nigh to perfect.

'05 = working sim engine (better stats)
'06-beyond = totally busted sim engine (RB's with 500 carries and 2500 yards)

05 was my favorite madden.
Probably because it was the first one I played, but I loved the soundtrack. And the franchise mode was awesome.

2006-2008 are broken, I know that for sure.

I doubt 2009 is any different as they started on the next-gen versions in 2008. No financial upside to go back to fix deficiencies on out-dated games.
