Hack-a-Whoever in a basketball video game

How do you guys feel about this ever being in a basketball video game? Could you imagine someone hack-a- Someone on your team every single time down the floor. Just to watch you struggle to make a free throw. Or like Pop did vs the Clippers last year to change the momentum of a game. I could hear people yelling cheese from here to 2k's offices.

A few years ago I didn't want the actually rule of the 20 second timeout one sub rule. I actually never knew about it. Until I argued with someone on this forum about it. But I've always felt how real is too real. I would never want to watch someone hack-a-me all game just to watch a free throw game. That would be boring! lol

Re: Hack-a-Whoever in a basketball video game

Iv actually done this in 2k13. Kid was just killing me with dwight howard. Would just post up and hit every hook shot. He was like 12-14 on just hook shots. Not counting his 5 offensive rebound slams. So i subbed in kwame and Royal ivey. And hacked the **** out of dwight everytime he touched the ball. Kid went 5-20. One of my goons fouled out but it was worth it. The kid got fustrated and started trying to fastbreak everything witch resulted in a bunch of turnovers. And i made a 20 point comeback in the 3 and 4th quaters.

Guy sent me a messege calling me a noob.

Responded and said its just good strategy.

And you see... I wouldn't have problem with that. I think it's on the user to change it up. But I could see how people would call it a cheese. I remember in 2k8 where they didn't have clear path foul. My friend would foul on any fastbreak. Just so you didn't get any free buckets. Hacking a bad free throw shooter is a different story.

Up by 4 with 45 sec left, keep fouling sending the other team to the line, trade baskets until the time runs out.

I think I once did this in a close game against the clippers when I was winning by 2 or 3.This guy was cheesing the hell out of me so I don't care. He passes the ball to Reggie Evans go figure, he missed all of his free throws.

Man, I'd love to hack-a-Biedrins. If you even shoot 20% with him on this game, you're superhuman.

You can't foul off the ball though can you?

on 50 difficulty it's too easy to really make hacking a player a strategy. Either way, i think its just that, strategy, the same as leaving players who can't shoot open.
