Best way to get a block?

This is so hard to actually block shots in this game I mean its ridiculous Im in my association mode with the bulls and I have Anthony Davis and Noah on my team irl Noah averages around 2bpg and AD averages around 1.9bpg. But in my association mode Noah averages 1.6bpg and AD 1.1 I mean its so hard to get a block.

Numerous times I have had Noah and a pg lets say Brandon Jennings is about to shoot a jumper in his face and all Noah would have to do to block that shot is put his hands up but instead he does this wild arm swing and misses the ball completely.

I have heard that some ppl say to use the right stick instead of pressing the triangle button to get blocks or just put your hands up in the air to block. For me I have started to just let the Cpu control my C and PF on defense to allow them to get blocks by themselves.

What do u do to get blocks

Re: Best way to get a block?

make a petition to the creators of 2k to add in wingspan so that players are their actual "height" or "length", in 2k Davis is 6 ft 10 and has a 6 ft 10 wingspan...in reality he is 6 ft 10 and has a 7 ft 5 wingspan...your missing 7 inches of length/blocking ability...he should be about 7 ft 1 by 2k's height/wingspan system...

anyway...also chase down artist helps a lot, seems to get more blocks then with eraser...allow the offensive player to run by and just block it from behind^^

edit: side note since the highest amount of blocks usually in a season in 2k is around 2-2.2 BPG in actuality Davis is basically where he should be at 1.11, considering in reality the highest is around 3.5 and you could say Davis then might actually be getting too many blocks...basically in total the entire blocking system by 2k(although better the last year) is all screwed up by their laziness to not add in wing span...something you can find at draftexpress for i believe every player since 1989 that was at least in the combine...

Re: Best way to get a block?

wingspan would complicate the game so much, but i do agree, it should be added.

The biggest issue would be players like rondo. His wingspan helps him do certain dribble moves and passes vs some players that use it to block/rebound/shoot.

I wonder how we would be able to differentiate how players use their size/length

Re: Best way to get a block?

length is such an important aspect in the NBA...it helps with almost everything...helps make up with being short for their position (Biyombo, Ben Wallace, Elton Bland etc)....without wingspan you lose soo much with this game...and even if it does complicate things it is easy to fix...2k is just lazy as hell

seriously they have the potential to make stats realistic for every category...but they don't(lazy as hell)....I mean come on, i have my own roster and in association mode i have players playing like them...realistic rebounding numbers, assists, ppg etc....only issue is the damn cpu switching up the # of minutes players get lol

but yea....wingspan should/will help the 2k brand tremendously in realism...just at this point 2k/every sports games creators are too damn lazy...they make the game play "better" but they don't fix all of the other issues with the game that fans have been complaining about for years now...

ehh this turned into a me being pissed off about 2k's laziness rather then how to get blocks thread lol^^

anyway, yea chasedown artist does help in my opinion...and then you just have to practice normal/chasedown blocks in practice or something...

I have noticed that does work better when you let a smaller guy go pass u for a layups then come and block it from behind

Re: Best way to get a block?

If your playing, hold down right stick so it brings your hands up, then hold LT, this way if the driver passes out of the shot, you wont be up in the air and be unable to block the shot, if you do this your on the ground and only jump out to block when they actually shoot the ball because of auto contest. However, the block will usually be soft like a tap and not a swat, if you want to swat it away you have to use RT and Y.

im not arguing how important it is, im arguing how complex it would make the game from a coding standpoint. Im not sure its something that they could just "patch in" and keep the game running smoothly/

Re: Best way to get a block?

ahhh, on no this would be for something for 2k14...wingspan would be extremely/impossible to add in without tons of glitches and what not in 2k13...

even in 2k14 i'm sure it would be hard...but this is a multi million if not billion(unlikely) game that has tons of revenue coming out of their ***....I mean you wold think they could do it fairly easy lol...2k is simply just lazy...every sports game maker is...they are monopolies so why should they get better??? 2k with live gone since before 2k12 is essentially a monopoly, no one can compete with them...madden has been for years...golfing...what else is there other then
"tigers" golfing game??? Nascar, etc etc...

i understand it would be hard/ish, but really...on PCs people can/could make guys 9 ft something with ease...i'm fairly confident it wouldn't be too hard to make a guys arms longer and keep everything the same^^
