40Man All Time Greats

I uploaded the final version of my 40MAN ALL TIME GREATS roster to the vault last night. The user tag is biebig2010.

The roster includes at least the top 75 all time great players for each franchise and many franchises contain more than 75 players. The players are rated based on their WAR value while playing for the team they are placed on and their attributes should reflect their strengths and weaknesses. I set almost all of the pitcher's pitch types based on the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers or the PitchFX database (if they were newer players).

I went through every player (that wasn't an SCEA created player) and tried to make sure their height, weight, throw, bat, age, motion, stance, accessories and face was as close to their real life likeness as possible. In many cases the likeness to the real player is unbelievably close. In most cases the player looks very close. In some cases the player resembles their rel life counterpart but could be a little better. There shouldn't be any players that are way off.

I placed each player on one and only one franchise so there are some franchises that may not have a couple of their all time greats because they are placed on another franchise. Frank Robinson and the Reds is a good example. Robinson was one of the all time great outfielders for the Reds however he is on the Orioles roster because he was in the limelight a little bit more with the Orioles. There are a number of other players like this.

If you'd like a preview of the rosters you can check out the spreadsheet at the following link on Google docs...

Feel free to download this if you'd like and use it as you'd wish.

.................................................. .................................................. ....Thanks hoser for downloading most of my faces (400 + faces) that I created under BigKlu on the player vault. . It's quite a compliment to see my created faces on so many rosters this year. I spent 5 years on them and it's just great.

Please tell me you aren't whining about this and you're actually happy someone used your work.

I've given credit to multiple people multiple times when I've released this roster in the past. As I've said in the past I downloaded players from the vault from multiple people and I also created hundreds of players myself. This was the final version and I didn't feel I needed to stroke anyone's ego yet another time. I modified every non-SCEA player, and I mean every non-SCEA player, whether I created them myself or whether I downloaded someone else's player as a starting point.

Seeing as I uploaded this to a public forum people can use it however they'd like. I would expect others to understand their work is open for others to do what they want if they upload to a public forum as well.

I'd like to think so but history has shown some people on these forums get bent out of shape if you don't mention them in every thread if you use any of their work.

I originally downloaded a few hundred players from the vault that were uploaded by various people such as bigklu, drsublime, maizeblue, marsl, and pjsnell. It's possible I downloaded a player or two from someone else but quite frankly I don't recall or care who they might have been. I then went to work on creating the other 1000+ players myself. After all the players were downloaded or created I modified every non-scea player's face, attributes, vitals, accessories, etc to come up with this roster.

I figured I'd upload the final version to the vault in case anyone is interested in using it. I don't care who downloads it or what they do with it. I also don't require or expect anyone to mention me if they happen to use and upload any or all of it. The roster is on a public forum and it's fair game for people to do whatever they want with it.
