Too Many Prospects?

Is it just me or do others guys have an entire minor league system of A-Potential Prospects? I am manually scouting for the Draft every year, and when I get to the draft, I end up drafting 6-7 A-Potential players! For 5 straight years I've only drafted A-Potential prospects in the draft. Now I have an entire organization full of A-Potential players for every position. Now this might be a good problem to have, but it is not realistic at all. I want to call these guys up, and not waste a 85 OVR A-Potential player in Triple-A but I already have 2 guys in front of him on the depth chart who are also A-Potentials.

Two words: trade bait

Seriously though, I've noticed this as well. I think the game undervalues what an "A" potential player is. I draft guys who are 55 overall and yet they're "A" prospects. I've always believed that there should only be 8-10 players per draft with "A" potential, then maybe two or three sleeper guys that go later in the draft.

Trade for more A-Potential players?? Or trade for a Major League player to ride the bench behind another A-Potential player in my MLB Lineup! I understand what you mean though. I feel the entire draft is full of A and B Potential players

Re: Too Many Prospects?

as in real life alot of A potential players dont pan out. alot of the 18-19 year olds with an A potential with an eta 8 years down the road might not make it. and with the way teams draft they very rarely draft a player thinking he'll only be a C level prospect.. that being said this is a video game so that wont be perfect.

the only workaround ive found is to set scouting to auto and draft primarily on ETA and team needs depending on how my roster looks, seems to balance it a little bit. even though this last draft i somehow picked up a 74 OVR 1b whos only 19 with high 70's in power already in the 4th round
