My Christmas Madden 16 Wish List

Okay I know there are similar thread and such, but this is going to be a very long winded post that is my wish list, and for many things what I think could be done to improve them.

About me, I'm a Online CFM player in 32 user team leagues, and that is essentially the only mode I play. So my wish list will be heavily geared around this. I'm not really asking for any responses but I feel the need that my thoughts need to go somewhere (and this was the best place I could think of).

So without further ado, here we go (I'll be listing and explaining):

#1 Priority: Playoffs

There is no reason or excuse anymore, the playoffs should never be messed up, have the wrong rankings or anything else anymore. The formulas for which team gets which seed, and the reseed after the first round are very clear from the NFL. This seriously can't be an issue next year.

#2 Priority: Player Development

Madden tries to adjust this every season, and this year it feels worst than most. To start with player regression is insane, as soon as players hit 30 their physical attributes completely fall apart to the point that a season or two in and elite wide receivers will be no faster than the average offensive lineman. That is just the most glaring part of the issue, but even other positions face similar problems. I can't tell if this is a bug that they just haven't figured out how to fix, or if honestly it was designed this way and that makes the problem even worse. On the other side of the equation they messed up pretty hard also, an entirely goal oriented system tagged with individual training that leaves most backup players with no experience points to develop. I believe this area of the game may not need a complete overhaul, but does need serious changes, so here are my recommendations.

I'll start with the regression side again, attributes should be essentially divided into two categories (which they already are) Physical and Intangible. Physical attributes (speed, strength, accel, agility, jump, throw power, kick power) should start to decrease at around the age of 30, that part is fine, but never (without injury) should any of these attributes every decrease by more than 2 a season. A simply RNG to determine if the attribute should decrease by 0,1 or 2 should be used, with age affecting the percentage chance of each option.
For the Intangible attributes I don't mind the goal based system (though that needs adjustment also, see Goals below for that). And players under the age of ~26 shouldn't see regression here. Again keep to smallish or even keep the current amount of decrease based on goal objectives as is and you have a vastly improved regression system overall.

Now for the progression side of development. I like the individual time spent with players, but there still needs to be an amount of training everyone receives. I think this could simply be tacked in, by giving each player a base of 10xp per game prep hour a week would solve this problem without making players develop too fast (for an average dev player that would be ~7,350 xp over the season, including preseason).
The amount of XP players receive for individual awards at the end of seasons also needs to be greatly reduced, this is more a competitive balance issue than anything else as the better users tend to have the guys getting awards and are able to make their teams even better because of it.

#3 Priority: Goals
The season goals create another problem for users, since nearly none of us play full length games. The worst goals are for Catches and Tackles, simply because those require a number of plays, and in our leagues we run only about half the plays of a normal NFL game. (We also have about half the clock). This is another fairly easy fix as goals could just be tied to a percentage of the whole based on the leagues quarter length and accelerated clock settings.

#4 Priority: Confidence
This idea is actually pretty good, but unfortunately when playing in a 32 user league it absolutely destroys competitive balance as the top few teams/users gain a huge advantage later in the first season and then generally hold that advantage from then on. While I don't advocate completely removing this system, giving league owners the ability to disable confidence or reset confidence of all players to 50 would greatly help.

#5 Priority: Free Agency/Trade Players
This might have been the worst recent change in madden, but the inability to see a free agents or players to be traded attributes is painful. I don't know every single player fully off the top of my head, nor should I be expected to. Add in a simple click of the R3 trigger to pull up a player card and we are golden. Can get the stats, attributes and if possible favorite flavor of ice cream. Even nicer would be the ability to compare players.

#6 Priority: Sim results

I'm not going to dig too deep here either, since there are other complaints about sim results, but like the end of my Goals explanation this too needs to be percentage based off of the leagues quarter length and accelerated clock settings. Sim games suck in 32 user leagues but they do happen and stats can get horribly skewed because of this. It isn't the biggest deal in the world, but ties in with my fix for #3.

#7 Priority: Owners Money
I love the owner aspect of the game, with more things to manage from Coach to Pricing as well as still playing with the team. But there are still flaws, the biggest being that new owners come in with next to no money (even as the Mogul). Frequently it is hard to resign players in the first season or two especially if your team has a star player that is going to want 40M+ in bonus.

#8 Priority: Menus
This may be more universal than CFM, but any time I'm in a menu such as Player Development, when I have the drop down sorted to ROLB and select a player to develop, when I am done with that task the menu needs to return me to ROLB and not the ALL category again. (Player development isn't the only place this happens just one I could think of quickly).

I'm going to end this here for now, this doesn't mean there aren't other areas and other things couldn't also be improved. Drafting/Scouting can always be better (but I'm terrified to say anything because this year is immensely better than before). And if I think of anything else I'll come back and edit.

Re: My Christmas Madden 16 Wish List

Well thought out post. My biggest wish would be that progression be more realistic. I would base it on player traits like work ethic and intelligence. I would then have coaches, defensive coordinator, defensive line coach, Line backer coach and defensive back coach. Offensive coordinator, qb coach, rb coqch, line coach, te/receiver coach and of course head coach. All of these coaches would have different abilities at developing each attribute that pertain to them. You combine that with the players intelligence and work ethic to get progression. Also, i want to be able to save the game while playing. I have three kids and i have no idea why they took this out.

this is in 15 but only for play now games u can stop and pick back up where u left off at a later time.... so I don't see how hard it would be to put into cfm.

this reminds me of a few yrs back when they took player editing out of cfm but u could do it in play now.

some ppl say u can do it in cfm but I've yet to test that out.

Re: My Christmas Madden 16 Wish List

Realigning divisions and expansion teams. These things would have to be done while setting up your Connected Career mode. If you are a team like the Jaguars, and you want to move somewhere, you are more than likely going to move out of the south, but you will be playing AFC South teams, and you will be in that division.
But the more important thing would be letting you create an expansion team. You get to choose your city, name, and jerseys, just like moving a team, but, there is an expansion draft. Maybe you have to wait one year to use this team so you can have the #1 pick in the draft. So you would start a year late, but get the #1 pick and an expansion draft. I do not think that this would be too hard to add to the game. The creating your team aspect is similar to moving your team, and the expansion draft is similar to the fantasy draft.

Re: My Christmas Madden 16 Wish List

I want the season mode back, that will allow the player to compete with one team throughout an entire season and keep records etc all the way through the Super Bowl.

NEW EQUIPMENT. At least 15 cleats per brand and more color option

Madden 16 should add a legends section so we can customize our favorite team with HOF players

the site also has some good wishlist http://madden16game.com/madden-16-fa...-wishlist.html

Re: My Christmas Madden 16 Wish List

I wish EA would read these lists. Maybe they do but I hope they take them seriously.
One of the coolest features they could add would be to have actual historic team rosters. As we know, many people on here spend a lot of time creating realistic historic team rosters. I don't see why EA doesn't do it and save us the time and trouble.
There should have 1 or 2 historic team rosters from each team that you can play as for exhibition and franchise mode. For instance, as a Pats fan, it would be awesome to be able to play as the 96 Pats or '01 Pats.
In some of the past Maddens they had this but they didn't have player names or even accurate numbers, traits, etc.

Re: My Christmas Madden 16 Wish List

Confidence is a monster for online leagues. That needs to be addressed big time. I love the concept and hope the execution evolves to make it a really nice dynamic but fair system.

WR/DB interaction IMO is the #1 focus for me that Tiburon needs to develop. Much like the OL/DL interaction is IMO pretty awesome, they need to get this area of the game fixed and playing like a football game. Ratings play no role in this interaction for the WR. They do not go to the ball nor fight for the ball while the CB's are ninja like in their reactions to jump routes and pick off passes. Just get the WR's to do the same and have the dice role play out if your not taking user control of the players. A lot of us like to not user catch. It is absolutely needed on M15 to get your WR to play the ball. So for leagues that do not user catch.....it is a huge wart.

They have a contract with the nfl and nflpa. The players and coaches that are not current ea has to come to individual agreements with. That is the reason they dont do historic rosters. Their is no entity that represents past players collectively that they can come to an agreement with to use their name and llikeness. Pretty much the same reason ncaa is now gone.
