This game is simply NOT a true simulation

Lack of foul realism.

Not enough consistent, non shooting variety.

This issue has been raised countless times by many users both here within these forums and through social media.

This is not a post to complain about this game. There has been great progress made toward realism in 2K16. All respect to all those that created this excellent product but as we get closer to realism in other areas this is a real problem holding the game back.

This fouls issue costs the games any true sim experience.

Go ahead...watch any NBA game and you'll constantly see ball stops for many, many kinds of fouls. It's a critical part of execution and strategy.

In the NBA 2K series this is NOT the case.

I see all the game totals posted by users in the slider section and this is always lacking. NOT enough realistic fouls per 12 min games. These games average 13-16 fouls.

Look into any series of real NBA game box scores and you'll see an average close to 18-25 team fouls and between 22-28 free throw attempts. This means not all fouls are 2-shot shooting fouls.

In this game there are entire quarters where there are an unrealistically LOW amount of fouls for both teams.

The 2K user can only force inside contact to impose shooting fouls to even approach total foul realism on a consistent basis.

Please Devs tune the game to reflect the reality of the NBA experience.

PROBLEM: Fouls sliders are broken.

SOLUTION: Upgrade the slider sensitivity to true affect.

Give the experience to the user. If it's an issue users can CHOOSE to reduce frequency if it becomes too much.

Thanks for reading.

Re: This game is simply NOT a true simulation

I just had a game where I shot 24 FTs and the CPU shot 29.

I see variety on the amount of foul shots on a game to game basis. All depends on the team you're playing, their style of play and yours.

I'll upload a photo of the team comparison screen to show the high amount of foul shots in my last game when I get home

I consistently get to the line, low 20s to 30s on 11 minute quarters.

I would never be able to compete with the Heat if fouls were truly broken. But there is a lot of Wwe moves that should be called.

There are fouls after shots are attempted, over the back, loose fouls, 3pt shooting fouls, etc.

Specially Blake in the post.

I'll post my next game stats here. When a few really great shots are not falling I force inside with slashers and athletic bigs.

Great. Yes guys of course they occur but not nearly enough non-shooting fouls nor foul variety game to game. As for sliders go see if when you raise NON-shooting fouls to 100 they occur at what would be an extreme amount. They won't.

I've actually seen more blocking fouls this year than I ever have in any 2k game.....good bit of over the backs too...

I'm not a huge fan of be idea of off random ball fouls though....

I agree in part. The only non-shooting fouls I see are blocking fouls, illegal screens and a few over the back fouls.

However, I haven't seen many non-shooting fouls called in any 2k game for awhile now. At least that I can remember but I'm ok with that.

But I, too, only see a small variety of shooting fouls, such as:

1) Driving to the rim and getting fouled
2) Big men posting up and getting fouled on the shot

I rarely see any fouls on a jump shot.

In the end, I honestly don't care that much about this though as I think they call enough fouls as it is to compensate for the non-shooting fouls basically not existing.

The game need more charges. I haven't seen a single charge called yet. In fact, there's a bunch of blocking fouls that I know were charges, on both sides. Fouling out isn't exactly common, but I have yet to see a player foul out of a game, and I already have 50 hours in 2k.

Oddly enough, there's been several games where I got fouled at the 3pt line. 1 was the CPU defender being too late on the close out, and another was Paul George pulling a D-wade.

This I can agree with- if players are going to do all the falling they do, at least let it be with some purpose...
