Would you rather have EA UFC 3 or EA Undisputed 4

EA owns UFC 1 & 2 but they also own the Undisputed assets. Given the issues with UFC 2 and how hard they are to fix (for example, AI) and that EA is working on UFC 3, now is the perfect time for a change.

Since EA owns the code for the Undisputed series, they could actually start work on Undisputed 4 as a sequel instead of UFC 3. The whole codebase is there they just need a commitment from Brian Hayes, etc. It seems like it might be a lot of work wasted but that's not true. The knowledge gained when working on the last two titles could be used to enhance the Undisputed engine (arguably a better base) and make the ultimate MMA title.

Do they own the code? I dont know for sure but every article I read was that they just purchased the right to the license.

EA UFC 2 easily. I really don't think people are getting the fact that THQ had severed ties with Yukes and were going to make the games themselves after Undisputed 3. When we tested the game, they told us what was going on. We knew that they were going to be making the games themselves from then on out. Which means they would have to use a new engine because Undisputed's engine was made by Yukes.

Want more proof, here is an article of them saying they were closing the San Diego Studios. We tested the game in Agoura Hills. Where THQ HQ's were.

Undisputed 4 would have been very different. Nick said he tested the build they had going which only allowed stand up, and he felt it was more like EA MMA.

Use the Yukes engine it was light years ahead of anything THQ or EA could do themselves. If anything hire Yukes for UFC 3.

Turns out it was a lot uglier than anyone knew. Once someone blabbed about the San Diego offices closing, it was all over. That was a trade secret, and was not to be disclosed to the public. Looks like someone jumped the gun on that. EA screwed THQ out of the license, using Zuffa as the intermediary. So if EA does not have the code, Zuffa does.
