Re: MyGM question about Morale
Wow, I thought I might be the only person that felt guilty using my GM upgrades. At first, I would unequip all of them as I wanted to feel as you did.
After getting butt hurt and being schooled by the CPU, I felt as if I should just go buy a Super Nintendo and pull out the old NBA Jam because I apparently didn't know anything about real basketball.
I try to play as simulated as I can to real life. I remember back in the day that on games like NBA Live, I'd be pissed my scores didn't mimic real box scores. But then I realized those pitch scenarios and upgrades are upgrades you earn as a GM. And if you think about GM's around the league, they do have that ability to keep players from sulking and to talk them into reason behind their ideas.
I play MyGM only with the Hawks and I constantly had Schroder wanting to start after a few losses. It's like real life, when you win, everyone's happy. And when you lose, problems arise.
As far as does the CPU GM's use these same upgrades? That's a great question and I've wondered myself. I'd think they almost have to have some in their arsenal. If not, some teams morale would be as enthusiastic as someone watching a fresh coat of paint dry on a wall. And with the game being as difficult as it is and not being able to notch W's every time, you should take advantage of every chance you get.
Kudos for your style though! I think people like us enjoy a challenge and we want to dominate that challenge. I wrestled with the same idea here and when I had a losing record quite a few times, it made it easier to say I'll take what I can get!
