Re: Gridiron Champions (IMV Gaming college football Kickstarter)

Assuming this is a 60-day Kickstarter campaign, this campaign is already over $63,000 behind schedule. The campaign has already failed, the creators just don't know it yet.

Honestly, the campaign was dead on arrival because it doesn't show any gameplay footage, the company admits it has zero software developers on staff, and there are further no experienced video game industry professionals on staff in any capacity to instill confidence that backers will see a return on their contributions. Actually, no one on this project's staff has any experience creating video games whatsoever. The things above are requirement for entry with such a high asking price for a crowdfunded video game, and they simply aren't present here.

All these football video game Kickstarters which keep popping up and failing could stand to take a few notes from successfully crowdfunded video games like Yooka-Laylee, Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night, or Amplitude before launching their campaigns. Those games had gameplay footage available up-front, they presented realistic development goals and timelines, and most importantly they had credible and established video game professionals leading and working on the projects. These projects were very quickly crowdfunded because the respective campaign were extremely successful in making backers feel extremely comfortable putting forth the early funds. They are now are well on their way to finishing development (or in Amplitude's case, finished development and is available for purchase), having been successfully crowdfunded by a well-organized and well-thought-out crowdfunding campaign.

As always, Kickstarter is not a charity.

They should just call it Hashtag Gaming. Holy crap. I get trying to build hype, but dang, they're trying just a little hard too hard.

I really hope this is true and gets more notice. I agree they need to show some type of development like a demo or something. I would be totally on board with supporting a college football game if its true.
