Changing a batter's stance

Has anyone had a player in Franchise.. that was slumping so bad , you gave them a different stance?.
I have Matt Carpenter , second season of my Franchise.. hit .237 in the first season... the second, I am 63 games in and he's batting .163 , 3hr and 27 rbi.
I'm at the point if either trading him or at least changing his stance to see if anything changes for the better

Re: Changing a batter's stance

I haven't changed a hitter's stance that was slumping. I'll either demote to the minors, bench, or just flat out move them off the roster either via trade or release.

Re: Changing a batter's stance

I've not changed stances for performance reasons but sometimes if the batter is moving the bat too much while waiting for the pitch it makes it hard for me to concentrate on the incoming pitch so I'll change it to something similar with less bat movement.

I have. If that didn't work I just traded them.

Re: Changing a batter's stance

there are some closed stances that I just cannot see good with.
so I either trade 'em, release 'em or flatout change their stance.

Re: Changing a batter's stance

I struggled hitting with Aledmys Diaz' stance so I switched him to Randall Grichuk's. I just feel more comfortable with his stance and do hit better I believe. I really like Carpenters stance but I chase a lot of low pitches with him.

Re: Changing a batter's stance

I brought this up on another thread. Aaron Judge wasn't hitting. I changed from his default stance to Tommy Pham. Pham's stance is more inline with Judge's true MLB stance. After I changed his stance he started raking.

When I brought it up on the other thread, I was shouted down. People said that has no effect on his hitting. It did for me. Maybe it was just a better stance that I react quicker too or who knows but it seems to make a difference.
