XP in cfm and dev traits

I apologize if this has already been posted before or addressed in another thread. Does anyone else have all of their players gaining the same amount of xp regardless of dev trait from training? Was doing a cfm with the cardinals in the free trial. Chandler Jones has superstar dev trait and Terrell Suggs has normal dev trait, but they both will get the same amount of xp from practice. I don’t remember it being this way previously, or maybe is xp more tied to the scenario engine?

Re: XP in cfm and dev traits

Practice XP earned was flattened in Madden 20. In the beta, the only difference was between players with Normal dev trait and players with any other dev trait; I assume that's the same in the retail build, but I haven't poked around in franchise at all yet so I don't know that for sure.

You should see that players of the same position, age, and OVR with higher dev traits require less XP to earn a Skill Point than players with lower dev traits, which effectively achieves the same effect of letting higher-dev players develop faster but with fewer moving parts in the system.

There are XP rewards tied to scenarios in the scenario engine, as well as on-field individual and team achievements.

Hey thanks for the reply man. That makes sense, I figured I probably missed something that was probably in the beta as I hadn’t played it. Appreciate the feedback though.

I played around with this extensively before my trial ended and CM is right xp for training is the same across all dev traits. Its only affected by depth chart position this year and even that it is only affected slightly.

Re: XP in cfm and dev traits

If xp is same for all dev traits what’s the benefit of having a higher dev trait besides abilities and XFACTORS? Does it have any impact on regression?

From what CM was saying and what I’ve noticed is the benefit is mostly in that players with higher dev traits don’t require as much XP to gain a skill point. Kinda hard to tell how it’ll affect a multi season cfm right now because my trial is pretty much used up

What he said. I actually played around with this during my trial. I edited Andy Dalton’s age and dev trait. At 22, 80 ovr and normal, it would take 10K xp points to get one upgrade, star would take 7500 and superstar would take 5000. Super X factor is the same as superstar. Age, overall, and dev determine Xp for an upgrade, Depth chart and scheme affect the XP gained during training but only minimally. Starter gets 546 others at the position 436. Scheme fits for starters at 136 and for backups 108.
