Is there MLB off-season for dummies?

I am casually playing a franchise just to get things understood. I got to the off-season and was so confused by all the significance deadlines days, the 4 free agency periods, arbitration, contract tenders? I was so lost, trying to sign players but then having the computer reshuffle and lose people to waivers because they gotten taken off the 40 man.

Is there a resource to learn about what goes on in each FA period? How to maximize the off-season?

I'm a baseball fan from day one of regular season to the world series. Everything else is Greek to me.

Any help is appreciated, I just need to learn up the MLB off-season.

I can't help you sorry, but basically it's all bull created by owners to line their pockets. It's pathetic even in real life, much less in a video game so I don't bother with it. But maybe if you check on youtube there might be videos on what happens in the mlb offseason. If I remember correctly though, even The Show has a pretty thorough post season dictionary of sorts that explains everything that goes on.

Maybe you should check out the Youtube Channel "Outta Here Baseball". They talk a alot about stuff like the Free Agency, how the MLB is structured, how the Minor League System works etc.

Here i got the Link that explains how Free Agency works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIeg_g58eu0

Maybe it helps a bit.

Unfortunately, I've seen that video, it talks mainly about the history about free agency. I want to know how to maximize free agency in terms of MLB The Show. When to sign players for the best deal? Like when is it a good idea to sign players long term through their ARB years, what are the pros and cons of the free agency periods.
