Raiders spending spree continues

The Raiders continued to boost their roster yesterday. This time by landing prized free-agent Demaryius Thomas from the rival Broncos for a mega 6 year deal worth a whopping 73.4 million dollars. Thomas will be a big boost to Oakland's receiving corps that has been lacking big play power in recent years.
Brees spurns Saints, signs with Denver for chance at a championship

Quarterback Drew Brees shocked the New Orleans Saints and many others in the NFL yesterday as he announced that he would be signing with the Denver Broncos, instead of going back to New Orleans. When he announced a couple weeks ago that he would be coming out of retirement, most just assumed he would wind up back in the Bayou. Instead he went to Denver because in his words it gave him a better chance at winning another Super Bowl. Now the Saints are left scrambling to find a quarterback solution this off-season, without a No. 1 Pick in this years up coming draft.
Panthers land Hakeem Nicks

In a move that had been rumored for months, wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is coming home to Charlotte where he played college ball and signing with the Carolina Panthers for a 5 year deal worth 31.5 million dollars. The Panthers will hop this softens the blow from the recent retirement of Steve Smith from the team.
