Despite cold bats, M's take series finale

Oakland - A.J. Griffin was baffling hitters all day with his curve, but his big pitch count forced him to finally give way to the bullpen, and that's when clutch hitting gave the Mariners the win and allowed them to take this series from the A's. Mike Zunino roped a double into the gap right after a Cole Gillespie single, and the Mariners that couldn't buy a hit all day got two clutch ones in the 9th to take this one. Not to be forgotten is the solid start from Hisashi Iwakuma who went seven innings again and kept it close for the Mariners to finally break through. Charlie Furbush got the win after a shutdown inning in the 8th, and Fernando Rodney was electric once again in securing his fourth save on the young season. The Mariners now head home to open Safeco Field for the season Tuesday night.
