Rangers take opener from Seattle 6-2

Seattle - The Texas Rangers got to J.A. Happ early and often on Friday night, as they used a barrage in the beginning to create a divide the Mariners couldn't dig out of in a 6-2 defeat. Shin Soo Choo, and Robinson Chirinos did the damage for the Rangers who banged out 11 hits. The Mariners managed to get 13 hits themselves, but had trouble capitalizing when they had men in scoring position. The Mariners will now look to climb back above .500 with their ace on the mound tomorrow. Colby Lewis (1-0, 2.57 ERA) will go to the hill to face Felix Hernandez (2-0, 1.29 ERA).
