Carson - The Seahawks exhausted their whole roster on Sunday night as many reserves got their chance to shine as the Seahawks eventually held on for a 32-27 win to open up the 2017 preseason. As always the main issue in preseason is getting through unscathed by injury, and for the most part the Seahawks did that, however quarterback Austin Davis, who is battling with Trevone Boykin for a backup spot behind Russell Wilson had to leave the game in the fourth quarter with a nasty looking dislocated elbow injury. It will be interesting now to see if Seattle will bring in another veteran to compete with Boykin for the job, or if it is now his following the unfortunate injury to Davis. Boykin may have been well on his way to securing the spot anyways, as he had an impressive two touchdown performance on Sunday. Other players who stood out in this game were rookie running back Chris Carson, who has impressed in camp, and safety Mike Tyson who had ten tackles on the evening. The Seahawks will now travel home for their next preseason game which will be Friday at CenturyLink Field against the Minnesota Vikings. Kickoff will be at 7:00 pm.
