Madden 2010 News Post

This week we are starting to go through the rosters and tune each individual player's body to match their real life counter part.

I know as a fan when one of your favorite players is wrong it can take you out of the experience.

So the question to you is: Which players need the most work? Please give specifics. On the flip side are there any players you wouldn't touch?

Thanks as always,

Mike Y

They look so sick. More players wear them as well. Such as Tedy Bruschi, Ellis Hobbs, Rodney Harrison, Sammy Morris, Matthew Slater, and Ben Watson!
I can't wait...

Im just going to go through posistion by posistion for my cowboys here. This is based off the innacuracies in madden 09. I will post a picture and then tell below what needs to be put on the player in the game. Im not sure if colored cleats are in this year but I will just point them out in case. Also the Schutt helmet is standard 2 in the game. Also will make sleeves comments in case loose sleeves are in. I'll just do the offense for now. If mouthpeices make it in the game you can see in the picture below who has them.

Also the tucke sleeves on a rb does not look the same as tucked sleeves on a lineman where you can see their armpit like in madden.

Tony Romo

He needs the schutt helmet, 3 bar single facemask, small thigh pads, colored cleats, Only a white large elbow band on each arm, hand towel and loose sleeves

Jon Kitna

Standard (Riddell as I will refer to it later) helmet 3 bar rb single facemask, now that he is a cowboy I will say white qb wristband on his left arm white wristband on his right, large thigh pads, hand towel and loose sleeves.

Marion Barber

Schutt helmet, robot facemask, lite taped wrists, black rubber pads, white and blue gloves(they change game to game it seems), large thigh pads, colored cleats, hand towel and tucked in sleeves.

Felix Jones

Schutt helmet, 3 bar facemask, large thigh pads, colored cleats, blue and white gloves, tucked in sleeves.

Tashard Chioce

Schutt helmet, 3 bar rb facemask, clear visor, large thigh pads, colored cleats, blue and white gloves, hand towel and tucked sleeves.

Deon Anderson

Schutt helmet, 3 bar rb facemask, tucked sleeves, white and black gloves, large thigh pads, colored cleats.

Roy Williams

Riddell helmet, 3 bar rb single facemask, clear visor, regular sleeves, white half sleeves, white train track gloves, no thigh pads, colored cleats.

Patrick Crayton

Schutt helmet, 2 bar facemask, regular sleeves, medium taped wrists, blue and white gloves, no thigh pads, colored cleats.

Miles Austin

Schutt helmet, 2 bar single facemask, regular sleeves, white wristbands, blue and white gloves, no thigh pads, white cleats.

Sam Hurd

Schut helmet, 3 bar single facemask, regular sleeves, blue and black gloves (these specific ones are in the game can't remember the name), no thigh pads, colored cleats.

Issiah Stanback

Riddell helmet, long dreads, 3 bar rb single facemask, regular sleeves, medium white elbow bands, blue train track gloves, large thigh pads, colored cleats.

Jason Witten

Schutt helmet, 3 bar rb facemask, regular sleeves, blue half sleeves with medium wristband tape over them (this is possible in the game btw), blue and black gloves, large thigh pads and no knee pads, hand towel and white cleats.

Martellus Bennett

Revo helmet, dunno if you'll get this facemask in but full cage 2 with a clear visor will work, tucked sleeves, white track track gloves large thigh pads and colored cleats.

That's all for now I will do the oline and defense later.

Just counter all those pictures with your superbowl rings. You'll outshine them by one.

I'd love it if you would do the 49ers. I have a hard time finding pics as I am not too computer savy. I'd like to thank you in advance if that's something you'll do.
For example I know Patrick WIllis wears a clear visor adn not an amber one. he only wore amber in pre-season becasue the NFL was allowing pre-season colored visors. Regular season it is dark or clear only.

^^^^^^^ For all your NFL photo needs.

I'll do patrick for you just because.

Schutt helmet, rb bull facemask, clear visor, tucked sleeves, black thin elbow bands, black tape (if in the game if not black wristbands) black gloves, no thigh pads, short black ankle tape, black cleats.

Also he sometimes wears a captains patch, I believe they vote from week to week on the niners.

I could, it would take literally forever plus I have to find pictures of everyone but before I do more than just the cowboys I want proof that Michael is listening to me before I waste my time.

Kind of a silly thing of mine, but customs animation like Moss parting defenses. It has a meaning behind it like others players do for themselves.

Q: After you score a touchdown you do this, what does this [your touchdown celebration] mean?
RM: At the beginning of the year, you guys talked about how I lost my step and really wasn’t into the game of football. Coming off my hamstring injury in training camp that - I don’t even know how long the play was, but it was against the Jets, that long 70-80-something yarder. I thought to myself that physically I didn’t think that I was able to do that, to run like that, because I’m coming straight off a hamstring injury - so for me to be able to part the defense like I did that’s basically me parting the defense. That’s where it came from.

# 172 PGaither84 @ 03/26/09 05:24 PM
Mos DOES do the parting the D. People may not know but pressing Y/Tirangle in the end zone OUTSIDE of the blue markers will do a custom player celbration if your palyer has one or more like T.O. and Moss. Pressing B/Circle will do the "steal their thunder" and mock a player by taking one from your opponants. When I score with Vernon Davis agaisnt the Cowboys, Steelers or Patriots I like to do this. Also, when i play the Broncos at Denver [which isn't often} I will do this too as you steal their Salute adn you can steal the Dirty Bird for Atlanta. It mostly fun to do it at THIER home and not at your house.

P.S. Thank you Kane.

I also wanted to say, in case it hasn't before, that the NFL only allows clear and dark face shields. Unless there has been an annoucement I am not aware of for this season, only pre-season allows custom color face shields. Willis wears an AMber face shield in Madden09 because hat's what he wore for the preseason, but as Kane showed us he switched to clear for the regular season. Also, Willis used to wear a dark one for college, but not anymore. becasue Willis adn other 49ers change often enough [like Spikes wearing a towel sometimes, but sometimes not] Madden hasn't been able to get the 49er ight, but that's not really their fault either.

I still never saw Willis with a red visor btw.

The nfl banned colored and dark visors (unless you have a perscription) due to the inability to see a players eyes when there is an injury.

Fred Davis also needs: helmet schutt, robot facemask.

Also, I dunno if all of your changes will work, I have a feeling they are adding in new gloves and some facemasks so some of those will need to be changed as well. This is the reason I like to post pictures with my changes, so they can not only see what im talking about, if I messed up one of my changes its noticeable in the picture. I also make sure its a full shot of the player so every peice of equipment can be seen.
