NCAA FOOTBALL 10 DEMO AVAILABLE TODAY

Fans Awaiting the Release of NCAA Football 10
Create Over 80,000 Custom Teams via TeamBuilder

June 18, 2009 –Electronic Arts is proud to announce that the demo of NCAA Football 10 is available today for Xbox 360 and PS3. Fans who download the free demo will experience all-new gameplay features including:
  • Defensive Keys—Prior to the snap during the pre-play, hold the left trigger while pressing the analog stick in the direction you think will stop the run. If you think the offense will pass the ball, press upward. Or, you can press the icon associated with a receiver (X, Y, A, B, LB, RB) to spotlight that individual. This will focus the defense on making sure that the chosen offensive player does not make a play.
  • Defensive Player Assist—By holding A (on 360) or X (on PS3) on defense your player will be put under CPU control so you have time to read a play and decide the best course of action.
  • Enhanced Defensive Lineman Moves—With new animations, take control of your defensive linemen using the right stick to fight pass blocks and put pressure on the quarterback.
  • Gameplanning—There are six defensive and five offensive individual game planning options, or you can globally set your offense and defense. Each option changes the way your team will perform. For example, be aggressive and try and strip the ball every time and you run the risk of getting more facemask penalties.
  • Player Lock—Player lock allows you to lock on to a specific player in order to control that position during the play. When you lock on you'll get a whole new camera angle that puts you closer to the action.
  • Set Up Plays—Set up plays allows you to run one play in order to set up another. When picking a play, you will notice that some plays have a chain link between them, which indicates that one play can set up the other. Every time you use one particular play throughout the game, you are setting up for the play that is chain linked to it. Once the play is 100% set up (as shown in your playbook), the defense is at its highest likelihood to fall for that play action.
  • 1000 new animations like throw out of a sack, new shotgun snaps/hand-offs, WR/DB interactions, tackles, double team run blocks, catches, broken tackles, and slipping in bad weather.
In anticipation of the release of NCAA Football 10, thousands of fans have logged on to teambuilder.easports.com to create custom teams that can be shared and used in-game when the full product launches on July 14th. not sure, on the 360 there's a little switch in the back of the console that toggles between regular tv and HD. for whatever reason i had it on regular even though i'm playing on a HDTV. and that brings me to next point children, don't do drugs!

Played 2 more games today after getting home from work and a buddy played 5(first time he played the demo) and I have to say, the more I play/see it in action, the more I'm enjoying and noticing the subtle changes.

I'm also getting better at pass rushing. No..its not where it needs to be, but its no where near the shape that it was in last year. You can get to the QB this year and force him to hurry.

Looking forward to the retail. Tired of playing Florida and Oklahoma..lol

Throw me in the group of people who want a game that is "good enough".

09 to 10 is going to be a huge jump in gameplay. There are so many terrible things about 09 and despite them I still played the hell out of the game.

Online dynasties rule in the world of NCAA, especially if you get a good group of guys. That alone takes many, many of the complaints out of the game.
I'm in this camp. NCAA is pretty enough. It doesn't have to look like Killzone 2 or Gears of War for me, but that's my opinion.

I am more excited this year than last year right now for some reason.

I have played the hell out of the demo. At least 25-30 games. Probably more. I can't even go back to '09 for some reason.

I just can't stop playing the demo because all of the little tweaks/additions/improvements. Everything from the playbooks (yes, I am a Florida fan, obviously) to the abundance of new animations. Once I get a working set of sliders, all the players named for every team with my equipment touches and the ability to play with any and every FBS team, I will be fricking set baby!

I agree. I can get a pass rush on All-American pretty consistently, but Heisman it has been very difficult. I sort of expect that because of the increase in difficulty going to Heisman, but it is really tough to get a pass rush going on Heisman.

One thing I've noticed is that when I get a pass rush going, my cpu teammates seem to pick up their ability to get to the QB. Not sure if its coincidence or what, but it sure seems that way.

Also, one other thing that has helped me is switching defenders while rushing. Say I'm the RE and I get stonewalled, but I notice that one of the DT's is getting a rush, I'll switch off and get a chance to get to the QB. It seems that at times your cpu controlled DL will get to the QB, but don't do enough, or really anything, to get off the block to hit the QB.

A few more weeks....only a few more weeks...

that's what I'm asking, you said no just for the demo, so what you downloaded the demo and said hey let me switch it to SDTV for NCAA 10 demo. If you game in HD why touch it? That's what I'm asking, no harm no foul.

You said you switched it from the cable in the back.

You said you switch it from the cable itself.
oh I see, no it had been set to SD for some time I just didn't realize it until now. I know when i first got the 360 it was set to HD that was about two years ago and at some point between then and now it got switched to SD. I finally realized it when I threw in 06 because alot of people in another thread we're talking about how great it is. Anyway I went to put it on SD because they said 06 would play better that way. That's when i realized it was already set to SD so I played a quick game of 06 realized I just couldn't go back. Then I switched it over to HD to play another demo game and like I said I was just blown away by how good it looks. in particular the field looks amazing.

sorry about overreacting before it's hard to tell when someone's messing with you on here.

Not that easy my friend or I would have done so already.

I have to disconnect my modem from the computer, go downstairs and kick the wife off of the tv, disconnect the cable, hook up the modem and check xbox live. That is why I was asking here.

Thanks!

Yes indeed, I must become more efficient before the game drops so I can play online and upgrade to Gold. No reason to now, too difficult.

Thanks again

I have to disagree with your statement, simply because I think this game looks WORSE than '09. Worse to the point to where I notice it. Maybe, the retail versioni will have better graphics, but I doubt it.

I dont know how the 360 version looks, but the PS3 doesnt look as good as last year. It just looks really washed out to me.

I too think 09 looks better, but I won't say washed out, but do over washed. The colors are pretty heavy on the eyes, to bright and way too colorful, like over the top. Makes the game not look real.

WTF? The Demo is out? I was in Dallas this past weekend and I haven't really been paying attention.

When does this game come out?

# 899 mmorg @ 06/24/09 01:03 AM
July 14th. About 3 weeks.
