3 and 1, pass to FB...11 yard gain. Chain gang comes out, 4th and inches. Challenge the play; play stands. WTF is all that about? WOW, this game is garbage. The patch hasn't fixed this or anything else that I've noticed.

hmm, are you a conspiracy theorist?

dont even go there. Its my opinion and I stand by it. And just for the record, I'm a pretty big supporter of EA games. Im having fun with madden as is so I probably wont even download the patch. Im gonna purchase the AFL pack, I buy all their games pre-release, cant wait for LIVE 10, etc, etc........

I'm seeing a lot of horrible tackles since the patch. I see guys getting tackled, and before they hit the floor they bounce back up.

this is probably peanuts in comparison to other things, but i'd like to see a team where two players have the same last night have more than just the last name on their back.

yea, it's small. but just a thought. maybe it's been brought up before?

Something is wrong with the patch. There are too many bad calls being made on the field. T.J was over thrown and never had a chance to catch the ball, the refs discussed it and called it a complete catch. WTF is going on with this patch? I had a 3rd & goal at the 1 yard line, punched it in by 5 yards and the refs discussed it and called it 4th and goal.

The two biggest differences I noticed, granted I only played one game, is that the run blocking is definitely improved and the cpu can actually score against me. For the first time in Madden 10 the cpu scored 21 points against me. I was actually shocked to see them have an offense for once.

Agreed, their running is much more potent and they seem to stay on the ground more, when appropriate. I just gave up 129 yds on 23 carries and a TD to Chris Johnson in a recent AFL game (I won with the Pats though, 17-7).

agreed. i love the CPU running attack now. i just wish the user pass rush was a little more potent with sliders. i have it at like 97 with CPU pass blocking at 3 and still isn't very effective. i don't do that DE dive "trick" either since i don't want to control the pass rusher all the time. honestly, this would get canceled out if robo-QB were gone though.

The big thing I noticed was the caught balls near the out line and the reciever turning up the sideline immediately after the catch for huge extra yards... made the CPU attack a lot more convincing for me, thats for sure

Yes as soon as you download the patch you will see the Legacy option in the main menu, you can download it from there for $7.00.

Had this too...Revis and Chambers went up for a deep jump ball collided in mid air, ball flew out of bounds.

Cut to refs discussing if Chambers got his feet inbounds(well he might have done, but the ball was in the crowd)...They said he did, Collinsworth started a rant about a great receiver and concentration, and the game went back to San Diego 2nd and 10, pass incomplete...jeez....

This is the 2nd time this has happened already, in a few hrs of testing....ouch..

I know a lot issues aren't necessarily "fixed" per say, but I was very impressed with my first game in about three weeks and am starting my franchise tonight.

Madden seems to be back in my Xbox and should stay there until October 6.

I'm pleasently suprised with this patch. I played a couple of games on default all pro and was quite happy. I deliberately tried out the Patriots to see if I could get the deep ball going between Brady and Moss and sure enough I managed to get a couple of long completions where Moss had clearly beaten his man on a streak. Good stuff.

Now I'm really looking forward to the next patch. Hopefully we can get some auto replays and then I will probably play this game into the new year.

-Sigh, still didn't fix the replays starting midway through the plays.

Ask and you shall receive.

This was Phil's response to the same question (I couldn't quote it because the thread has been closed):

Quote:
Totally understand the frustration here. Here's why we wanted to wait for the patch.

There is actually two systems for starting online games. One system is the Quick Match option and one is by inviting a specific player. With the way the game is currently built, one of these systems uses a server based setting and the other requires a client side fix, or a patch. We didn't want there to be confusion over why there was two ranked game durations so we didn't flip the server change switch until the eve of the patch.

Hope this helps.

Phil
