It looks like Jonathan Toews is the cover athlete for NHL 11.

EDIT: Looks like EA took the page down, but OS has you covered.

At first, I was a little confused by the choice. Then when i thought about it, removing his team affiliation, it made a lot of sense. Just look at his year... Won gold on Team Canada at the Olympics, named Best Forward at the Olympics, Won the Cup, named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner... Hawk or not, that is one heck of a year.

It's just a bad idea on the marketing side IMO. The Hawks got bounced in 5 in the WCF yet Kane gets on the cover? And Toews only has 3 assists in the finals and gets on?

Toews...
-Had the most points in the playoffs (29) and tied the Hawks record
-Won the Stanley Cup
-Won the Gold Medal with Team Canada
-Won the Conn Smythe trophy

He deserves the cover. Period.

That seems a bit foolish to me.
They could put Ru Paul on the cover of NHL 11 and i would still buy it.

Yeah this seems like a bit much. If Terrell Pryor was on the cover of NCAA, I'd just replace it with a custom cover. I hate that Toews is the cover athlete, but it certainly isn't going to keep me from buying what will likely be a great game

Can't believe some of the people whining about the selection. The guy won a gold medal, the stanley cup, was the olympics player of the tournament, was the Conn Smythe winner and that's just this year. Pretty impressive for a 22 year old captain I'd have to say (and I'm not even a Hawks fan).

Type in nhl 11 ea on google and go to their home site. They are in the midst of changing the website for nhl 11 and if you click on the features section they have a shadow of a forward for the preorder box art of NHL 11 (my guess is the same person EA leaked on their ea games site - Jonathan Toews)

It's nothing to whine about really. It'd be nice to have someone else on the cover, but it doesn't effect someone not buying does it?

Honest question, but how often are some of you looking at the box to care so much?? Its not like someone controversial or undeserving got the cover. I hope next year its Hossa just to see all the anger again!
