The NBA 2K11 demo is available now for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

You can only play as the Lakers, can't play as the Celtics

Yeah, I haven't had the "wow factor" when playing an NBA game since 2k6, and to some degree 2k7 because of signature shots, but it's like 10 fold when playing this game. I didn't think an NBA game would be ever be this good.

yeah im really surprised at how guys acting here about the demo...its been 1 quarter 4 min since 2k8 and above or maybe even earlier than that...

apologies to 23 i know no past 2k games but im just pointing out demos past...its weird its like nobody downloaded the past demos...

I doubt it's my control skills but I'm having some games where I have ultimate control of my dribble moves, and games right after that where I can't do much of anything on the first try. Maybe it's just all in my head but some games feel better than others. I guess its that consistency issue I need to work out

Man, ok guys, my impressions are from the ps3 version...I wonder what you game you guys are looking at on the ps3 version sayin' that the grapics have taken a hit! That's not hardly the truth! Peeps sayin' they see jaggies all over, like someone said early in the thread, adjust your sharpness!! I've never had these problems with any game, probably becasue I have sharpness set to 1 or 2 at all times...Moving on to the actual game, I hate that the demo is only 4 minutes of 1 quarter, but what can you do...Its a teaser and I can't wait for the full retail version!!

Next, the game feels alive this year, it feels a lot more organic...I mean I never felt this before in a basketball video game, where everytime out see something different than the next!! And all this from a barebones demo stripped down to nothin' has me so excited I would go to Japan for this game if I thought I could my hands on it a couple of weeks early!

I'm in love with Kobe (no homo) man it actually feels like KB this year, his sig moves are AWESOME, he should had this style and swag last year when he graced the cover for the aniversary edition!! I absoutley love how a live the ball seems, and the new animations that added to catch lead passes adds a whole other element to the game...You really have to pay attetion to where and how you pass the ball because you can and will pay if you don't! In closing I'm at work typing this and can't wait to get home to try out the iso moves...After reading some more of the posts I have to try the feathering the stick thingy...As of right now, my iso moves with KB are jus' blah at best...My only gripe with gameplay would be, iso moves still seem to be a little behind, but it could jus' be a learning curve. I can't wait to Oct. 5 gets here, man that seems like a long ways a way even more now!!

Must say that the demo in my opinion does exactly what it was meant to do. I dont think that we should be upset or anything, it just gives us a feel for the game and exposes us to the new controls.

One thing off the bat that I did notice is how much this game has a live 10 feel plus 2k. (Great Work Wang) I think that this game will meet all expectations.

I don't either. I think part of it is 2K's approach this year has been so above/beyond what's been done to date that a few may be spoiled and expect them to account for every person's tastes. I do agree that the demo is pretty barebones though, and the decision not to have the ability to call plays, or including an option to play as the Celtics/2-player is questionable. I can't get enough of playing the demo myself. I thought they were releasing it maybe a week too early, but it's definitely made me jones for the full version that much more - this is going to be a long three weeks. I can't wait to get this thing into practice mode to see what they've done with the signature stuff. They were already on another level with the signature animations, but multiple sig shots? The floaters, leaners, etc. are flat out beautiful to watch. And I love what they've done with the post-play animations, or reactionary anims - just so much stuffed into the package. And this is just the demo; once the other teams are included we then have the Jordan stuff with everything it's bringing to the table. And that's just from a gameplay standpoint, as we haven't seen all of the new presentation elements and improvements to the various game modes. Just a ridiculous effort by VC/2K all around imo - I don't think any other sports game developer to date can touch this effort

WOW...is all I can say at this point about the demo.....people are on here saying they can't play it..and I just don't understand why..this demo is great..(dumbed down yes....but good none the least, to get a goood feel of the controls..)

Presentation is definitely goning to be top notch I can not wait to see the presentation insight....the music on my surround sound is just incredible, the crowd atmosphere is so dynamic this year it seems like they are in tune to the action on the court this year more so than ever...who ever this guy is from ESPN...needs to stay on the payroll for good...lol

The controls do take some getting used to but I see the different from this year and last year very well...the earlier video by momentous just lets me know that I have a lot of practing to do and the fact that he can do all those moves in game makes this a day one purchase by itself.

now I have a couple issues though (minor) ......

Fake passes seems like it should be alittle more for lack of a better word organic...at least to me it feels very ummm...unfinished like when I do the move it feels fake almost to the point that I don't need to, because its like it doesn't really give me the feeling that I am making the defender feel like I'm going to pass the ball in that direction, it's like im just doing it just to be doing it..I guess I'm saying I don't feel like I have a advantage to doing it I guess..anybody else feel like that?

Blocks I feel will be very well for this year but I still don't really feel (hear) the impact of blocking the shot..it sounds like a little dud !!

Mike is there anyway you guys might turn up the sound on the blocks cause to me as I said last year blocks are just as exciting as a slam dunk and you do the sounds on dunk very well. I would love to feel that same sound dynamic on the blocks......(just me I guess.....lol)

I like the attention to the ball it kinda feels like I'm looking at a real basketball..(nice touch) and the rim physics are very much improved also

2k you guys are definitely going for authenticity this year, and I as a fan and consumer appreciate the hard work...thank you looking forward to the release.....

1). I hope they'll bring back the way that we can WALK the ball down the court in the final build. They have three weeks, so y'know...I kinda don't like seeing Derek Fisher CRAWL down the court.

2). Anyone seen the Kobe Doin' Work video that Mike Wang posted where Kobe puts the ball between his legs about three or four times before shooting a 3? HOW DO YOU DO THAT ISO?!

Maybe I just don't have the same problems with overusing momentum because I only use Turbo in bursts and and am a strict shot button user. I only use the shot stick when I'm attacking the basket to keep the ball away from the defender.

Another great thing I noticed was how you really feel the difference in the players movement/weight/lateral movement and etc. When playing the demo and guarding Rondo with Fisher you notice his lateral movement is slower as compared to guarding Rondo with Kobe who has the ability to move laterally while guarding Rondo. Looks like the days of Shaq sticking PG's is over.

Once again, GREAT WORK 2k!!!!!

(Cant believe I'm saying this based off a demo)

as far as everything else I was already going to get this on day 1 so thank 2k for giving me something to do until the game comes out oct. 5. BTW I wonder if the arena will be empty if your team is having a bad season during your associations?

On ps3 its L2 and down on the left anolog stick. I dont have a 360 but I'd assume it would be LT and down on the left anolog stick as well.

I'm in the minority here. I know that this demo is a small portion of the final product, but what's there is unimpressive to me.

#1 The Crowd's reaction to what's happening on the court is still all wrong just like past 2k hoops. They don't cheer loud enough and not enough booing, aahhh's and aww's. It's still way too bland for my taste.

#2 The Control's are still as sloppy as ever. After years of playing 2k hoops I still don't understand how to make a guard do what I want him to do. And that is a game killer for me.

I won't be buying this.

i agree with this %100....and i hate that now you have to use RT/ LT to post up now what is that all about? RT was fine i dont see what the change was for and even LT RT to me is not very responsive

anyone else having this issue? As I explained in the description, it occurs right when you start a game. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's weird.

I think that Live did things well that 2k didnt and 2K did things better than live, but thats a another topic....staying on topic here I believe that Wang going to EA and bringing back some of the stuff that he got there and integrating it into 2k may be the best thing ever.

Seems like Wang was a spy for 2k

PS3 version is lighter. Allen is like a ghost on that version. Other than it being lighter and I don't think you can hear the players talking, it's the same as the 360 version.
