From that video, the graphical differences are subtle/ hard to notice. I'd wait to see more. The animations look smoother however. I especially like how fluid the off the dribble pull up jumper by Caron was... shows improvement.

What I like about 2K is that they don't reinvent the wheel every year; They improve upon a working formula. Inevitably, there will be similarities to 2K11 by that virtue.

Looks great, as usual. Da_Czar broke it down nicely, and highlighted some things that I did not notice on first viewing. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

new video vs e3 video:

Still no dance team on the ends of the court, but oh well.

I find it funny that after ONE video people are saying they won't but the game.

Either way I am ready for 2k12. Glad 2k is changing the lighting fixing jump shots, doing the small things that turn into big things.

I love Dirk's new sig jumper. Looks pretty much perfect. I really like it though. Can't wait... lol

lol, well thats your right bro, but IMO this is the only sport games i see worth buying, nothing else has grasped my attention, but to each its own, this is a early build and look better than 2k11 already

At any rate on the defensive end there is plenty of goodness for Sim heads to see.

1. As has been mentioned look at the free range of offensive movement with the ball. Bumps in that video seem appropriate and in context while at the same time a guy was not able to run directly to the rim without body contact. Very tricky balance to maintain But that looked good.

2. Tempo and pace especially for guys who are playing a new game. Tempo looked really good and not like a track contest.

3. The on ball screen @ 1:36 actually worked. Those screens in what looked like a play in 2k11 never really worked the guy set the screen to low or too high so the defender would rarely get hit by them

4. On defense for guys complaining that every Pick and Roll was hard hedged last year notice how Bosh played the screen and then ran sprinted back as Chandler (i think lol) dived to the basket to set another screen to take away the passing lane... Good stuff.

4 The thing I loved the most was the defensive rotation @ 1:45 Dirk got deep and the double came. Then Lebron helped and someone HELPED THE HELPER for goodness sakes. LOL then the rotation back out once the pass was made was pure beauty IMO.

4.5 The cpu on the recovery I think it was lebron didn't fly out to cover the shooter he recovers and stays between his man and the basket basically saying go ahead and shoot it.

Last thing is Dirk's Iso was a thing of beauty spacing wise. He had half the floor to himself... LOL
Notice the bold right off the back. It was awesome.

those videos made me sad though . especially the mavs/heat one. apparently, 2K still has a ways to go in terms of beefing up the sidelines. players should practically be stepping on people when they inbound the ball
Each team is different when it comes to Cheerleader location, as for adding more people to the sideline it would be nice but do we really need any more unnecessary outside interference when trying to play, last year we were running into the coaches, refs and the mop guy.

Dirk's new shot looks GREAT...spot on.

Butler's pull up J looks...like a pull up J. None of that ice skating BS from 2k11 when trying to take a pull J.

New full court sprint/walk up dribble animations are welcome.

Other than that...the drive and kick game/spacing and rotations look very improved. When dirk posts up, it isn't a simple one guy helps out and then somehow magically recovers back to his man from 2k11...

Instead, one guy helps, and another guy has to cover the helper's man, leaving a wide open butler, followed by a close out.

@Above poster: Are talking about online or offline? You can change it yourself in about 5 seconds offline regardless. If you mean offline, I hope so too, and it likely will be...since it was last year.

some people will never get it.

in typical 2k fashion, they kept what works and touched up the areas that could be improved, and since there wasn't a lot in 2k11 that needed to be improved, the game is going to look and feel very similar...which is the RIGHT strategy. you don't make the greatest basketball game of all time (in 2k11) and then just scrap it all and release a completely different game the next year....there's a reason 2k11 was so great - they'd be stupid to mess with something that works...you don't want to be like EA and drastically change your game each year in hopes of distracting people with "new" gameplay. you will just end up with a half-baked game each year and you'll never make progress.

2k never disappoints me. they are just smart. they know what works and any changes they make are almost always for the better. what impresses me most about 2k is their restraint...their ability to leave something alone when it works and to avoid changing things that don't need to be changed.

from looking at the video, the 2k12 gameplay is exactly what it should be...2k11 with smoother animations, smarter contextual animations, smarter contextual bumping, and slightly better control. that's all it can be and that's all it should be.

biggest positive is that looks like gameplay improving didn't get that much emphasis on 2K12 as it did last year, so probably we gonna see much, much better franchise and my player modes. at least I ****ing hope so!

I love how Lebron pushes the ball out in front of him on the fast break at 1:21

Holding down the right trigger still makes you stutter, but it looks slighty improved.

The only thing I didnt like was the bump thats occurs at 1:09. Butler is in the middle of a crossover and somehow that is canceled out by a bump.

Look forward to more videos
