The Curious Case of Charles Barkley, and NBA 2K12

Most of us want Charles Barkley in NBA 2K12. Unfortunately, he wasn't announced as one of NBA 2K12's greatests. On Monday, we should find out why.

	Reading between the lines, it appeared that Barkley, like the Indiana Pacers' great Reggie Miller (polling No. 5 five on that vote), couldn't come to an agreement with 2K Sports over the use of his likeness, last year or this year. Whatever's going on, either he wants too much money, wants a cover or other promotional considerations 2K can't afford or grant. Or he objects to second-billing under some other star from a cast of dozens highlighting this game. Or, conversely, one of Barkley's old rivals refuses to appear in a game with him. Or, maybe, he signed a Rumplestiltskenian deal with the makers of Barkley: Shut Up and Jam promising them his firstborn if he appeared in another game.

Control x. Reached out about it. They said should be Wednesday when they hear something. Got the word from Owen on twitter. Os said that's what they heard too. But guess 2k will say when they do. Not a moment sooner.

Hey--as long as we got these three, I'm good to go. Barkley is just the whip cream on top in my opinion; it's nice to have, but you're happy with the ice cream.

Here's my suggestion...instead of rewarding someone a trillion dollars for throwing a perfect game in MLB 2K, they should have just stolen that money from the baseball department and given it to Chuck. Problem solved.

why add this teams when they could have easily added the 83 championship team??? I think he's gonna be added and this is what the Monday announcement will be about. One can hope. Plus may I ask what platform is the screen shot featuring Barkley from???

You are missing out on what could be an incredible game. You do understand that 2K probably did all they could to get Barkley in the game right? Why people are punishing 2K is beyond, me if anything be mad at Barkley who said no. 2K definitely tried.

I'm not punishing anybody. I'm not mad at 2K. It's just the facts for me as a consumer. If you're a huge Suns fan like I am, then that classic team is a must. Maybe if they had the '75-'76 Westphal / Adams / Sobers / Heard team...

It's just a PC mod for NBA 2K11.

I see, thanks. Too bad I'm not a PC gamer.

OTOH, most likely without a full season (if any) happening and my jonesing for NBA basketball, I'll probably cave and buy this game anyway.

I dont see what the big deal is. If the 93 suns uniforms are in the game. Barkley will be created as player DNA by many talented creators. and will generally be on point.

Thats the joy of Nba2k. the customization.

My current 2k11 superleague roster has the 93 suns. and they look and play great.

When I create the superleague roster for 2k12. they will be included in that as well.
It doesnt matter if its not the official 2k version. as long as it resembles chuck and the 93 suns in look and tendencies etc... and the cpu plays on point with them it will be fine.

I agree, Chuck's really not one of those "signature package" guys like Jordan and Olajuwon, everything he did can be pretty well simulated with tendency edits.
