Da_Czar checks in with a report for Sim Nation. Check out his most recent article, discussing how he helped the NBA 2K12 team with an assist from the OS community.

Before I left for 2K I combed through OS and 2K's forums and read, started or inquired into already established threads about what the Nation was interested in. It was fun as well as challenging to solicit feedback from those who had no idea they might end up contributing directly to the making of NBA 2K12.
Some leaped at the chance unknowingly, to their own benefit. While others, amazingly, passed on the opportunity like Rondo does open jumpers at crunch time.
While I can’t and won’t say what all has been added or adjusted to the game as a direct result of your input and analysis. I will say this. Practically everything I had on my list was either already worked on, fixed on the spot, or improved upon as much as was possible at that stage in the development cycle.
It's getting better gameplay wise but the graphics are just horrible. I have it for PC and the game is just visually unappealing. Don't want to go to off topic so I'll leave it at that.
What was your outlook before? Just because things may not make it into the game doesn't mean they weren't listening.
There is always a fight between community requests, and "how can we make this game appeal to the masses" and a good handful of years it seems like the latter is winning. I know every year around this time I get caught up in the hype but this time it seems like this time they are putting more focus on community requests.
am just gonna think and hold on to the possibility that i help made nba 2k12 into what it is n will b because of a great site like OS....the voice, opinions, n concerns of fans and followers alike of a great team like VC
so i am therefore sending great thanks n appreciation to Da_Czar,Steve-OS and his team here at OS, to all my fellow posters and OS friends, and to Ronnie2k for taking the heat from the community here@ OS with his chest up, and to VC for listening and making us Here @ OS a key part of the development cycle
here is to a great virtual nba experience with nba 2k12

There's a reason OS is listed in the game's credits.
Exactly.

The longtime members here need to stop selling themselves short. 2kSports has been doing this for a LONG time.
'Bout time they gave someone the green light to write something about it. Seems like they're making effort to prove a point this year.
As if Mike being open in the forums wasn't enough...
