Only thing that's disappointing is this mode isn't in MP. Hopefully they looked to expand this great idea and start adding it to other modes.
Imagine if your a MP center and in the offseason with your pay checks have a list of greats you can work with over the summer. OMG brilliant! Or being a point guard and going to a camp with Jason Kidd.
Great mode "Tukay" now expanded on this!!!!!
Exactly what I was thinking. They have to do something about the off season and practice in general in my player and association. Thats where the most improvement is made, it shouldnt be simulated. Even to expand this to actually learning how to run certain plays and strategies, a la what Da Czar is doing. That would really be training camp to me. Good start though.
I agree. This would have been a good opportunity to show some actual gameplay video of training camp in action.
gameplay vids would have been perfect for this insight. maybe a couple of short videos demonstrating different drills or even just 1 longer video showing off the mode. I like the addition of this mode to the game. Usually the first thing I do when I get the game is go to practice mode and get use to the feel, this will help me learn and master all the new controls a lot quicker.

Not to mention most sports games don't make as many changes and additions as 2k does on a yearly basis. Madden 12 could have summed up all of the changes in 3 insights. I like that 2k takes the time to write an insight about all the new features whether its something minor or major.

I like 2k's methods because it gives us something to look forward to each week. They could have given us one big preview in august but then we have nothing to look forward to except the release date of the game. It's funny because either way people will find ways to complain, yet in the end we will probably all get the game week 1.
For those complaining/wondering I'm sure 2k is saving insights for Gameplay, Association, and Online for closer to release. Going off your boxing analogy 2k is throwing light punches right now and saving its hay-makers for later...not quite sure who they are swinging at though lol. knocking out customers with excitement?
ummm an advanced practice mode i guess. The mentor part is not all that exciting but i do like how they will show you the controller and what motion to use. Might be good for the new comers, and casual 2k players but i dont think those that have been playing 2k for awhile will use this mode very much. Wish it was added to association mode and you could improve players by doing this. This would be much more realistic as players irl go workout with old time greats to improve an area of there game.
I assume they will put the 3 cover legends in there
Yup, I'd bet they get all three cover legends as mentors... though I'm not sure what lesson bird & lebron would work for.. too bad they don't have a "playing under pressure" lesson. We all know Lebron could use it lol.
And it's a shame Reggie Miller won't be in the game. He and Ray Allen would be a perfect pair for the "Off Ball Offense" lesson
I might be in the minority but I'm glad they included this. I'm sick of searching youtube on how to easily pull off moves lol
yea to me the best part about this is that they have the controller showing exactly what to do instead of just saying, "Hold L2, and press R2 while going towards the baseline."
This write up was insight-ful. I am a big fan of training modes that actually help you improve. Some sports games have training modes, but don't provide any feedback. This gives us feedback and challenge at the end of each session. Can't wait until release.
