Madden NFL 13 News Post

Because I have been asked about this via Twitter and email so often, I wanted to make sure people were aware.

Justin Dewiel, Community Manager for EA Sports, just confirmed via Twitter (just follow the timeline), if you coach a team, you can no longer play other games on the schedule, only the game(s) on your own schedule.

For example. Rgiles asked if he could coach the Cowboys in CCM, but play the Patriots vs. Browns game.

Justin stated that it is not possible, because CCM is based around you and your character (coach or player).

No point in having your twitter polluted by a bunch of angry messages.
What if all the messages are not angry? What if some of them are your consumers looking to get clarification on what the new mode is/what they can and can't do? Some guys got blocked for asking questions about CC.

Your reasoning is so illogical.
Connected Careers is a brand new mode, built 100% from the ground up and not using any existing code, meaning those features were never in CCM to be taken out.

I know what you mean i also play with more than one team, But i think if you use a different profile for each team you can play but they would all be there own seasons.

Honestly, I understand his reasoning. They made a development decision, period. Wait until the game comes out, try it, and then send your feedback to him.

The only way that we get a game that makes most people happy is if there is more than one maker of the game. And for that to happen maybe instead of complainng to EA we should find out who and how and complain to the NFL forgranting them the only rights to do so.

Is that a little OCD? Yes, probably but it's one of the things that I like to do and enjoy doing. Let me fix that and give my players numbers that make sense. and I would be happy. Went a long time without being able to edit rating within a franchise I can live with that.

And I want to raise this point once again. What if I have two sons at home and we want to play a franchise together in the evening? We have to what have 2 game systems and 2 copies of the game and play online? Is that the only "solution" What exactly does EA say to me? How do I get that little pleasure out of Madden?

That question has nothing to do with being a "hardcore" madden fan. That is a situation that would/could affect Madden's "casual" base more than the hardcore.

what I highlighted is a very good point. we all know the Madden has catered to the casual gamer over the hardcore gamer, but this move will affect the casual gamer much harder than the hardcore gamer.

This may hurt EA badly once the word is out totally on what was removed from the franchise mode. Remember not everyone visit a forum.

I'm still SMH on this. I hear what some of you are saying in regards to this being the begining to CC, but with what was removed from franchise is way to big of a deal It really is.

In the end I should be fine because of the league Phobia and myself have created, but its not fair at all for all of those that dont play online, or have certain traditions in which they play the game and can no longer do. This removed a lot of flexibilty to the gamers.

Sure their are some things missing that should not have been taken out. I'm personally upset about the editing of equipment, but these features are easy things for EA to put back in the game at some point whether its a patch or Madden 14. These features that everyone is about to jump off a roof over have nothing to do with the build or the core gameplay of the game.

I would rather be complaining over simple things that are easy to put back in a game than things like "physics" and realistic animations and AI interaction which are much more difficult for EA to update on a yearly basis. I'd rather be sitting on this new Madden 13 foundation that actually gives us hope for the future, than sitting on the old madden foundation with very little hope for the future.

RTP, i officially hate the phrase. We shall see how much "Physics" are in this engine when we see actually gameplay of it.

Man, they got a lot of you guys hook, line and sinker.

I can't fathom why people ask or even want that either in madden or NHL. Makes no sense to me.
Also, for years my friend I and I used to play franchise where we were always each others opponents. Also, there are marquee match ups from week to week that are fun to play and give you abreak from just controlling your team. I love playing Bears/Packers or Jets/Patriots or Pats/Colts or Steelers/Ravens and so on and so forth. Some weeks I played a ton of games before advancing. Others, not so much.

It's not just one thing, it's most of the list of missing features. I don't care about importing draft classes. I used to do that but it ways always terrible anyway.

Not being able to use edited rosters is my biggest problem and the nail in the coffin. I literally lost all interest in Madden 13 now. I'll keep following to see any updates or news or what ever... but that feeling of anticipation vanished.

Poor wording on my part. Not to necessarily play online, but to access certain features and/or perks, in much the same way they have a cache of purchasable, downloadable content.

Wasn't there a big stink about this a few years ago? EA wanted players to use their servers, XBox Live wanted them to use theirs?

^ This. Unfortunately, I think we here at OS comprise a small portion of the consumer base for Madden. Almost 70% of players here at OS said that they prefer to play offline. How does that measure up with the rest of the world? My guess is that it's smaller, and that's what EA is counting on.

I am a pure offline player, i take my offline packers franchise seriously--like to the point of 20 years of virginity :P jk lol, but in all seriousness I was very excited for the cbs presentation (cbs being my fav broadcaster of the four), the new sound on my new stereo system. However, since discovering the death of offline franchise (which was mildly okay since it is just part of the CC) the death of import draft class (sucks but I guess id be the same as mlb 2k), but now not being able to play other games, if I dont make the playoffs or super bowl I always play those games anyway for the very fun of it. Not to be the over emotional typical madden *****, however, I will be sticking to Madden 12 for one more year, I guess theres always next year. EA lost one customer, but likely gained 30 customers that have never even touched a football in their lives :/

Agree. I'm very excited about the new infinity engine, but I'm very down on what was done to the franchise mode.

We should be receiving a complete product, and one thing should not make us forgiving for what is wrong.

No matter how you look at this. Madden 13 really is a incomplete product.

It is also very unfair and selfish for some to say. "Well I don't use all 32 teams so I'm fine." The game is not made just for you, and you should consider others. This product is to cover many different gamers, and with what they did they only satisfied a small group.

No matter if it hurts you or not. We have to support each other, and make sure gaming companies give us a complete package. It's not going to hurt me as much as others, but I know deep inside this is wrong, and not fair at all for everyone.

I tend to focus on the bigger picture no just myself. If I did then I would be a self centered selfish person. That is not my style or who I' am. It feels good supporting others , and assisting in their needs. Some of you guys should consider trying it. In the end it will benefit us all.

I guarantee you that there you will be able to purchase XP from the EA market or whatever they call it. And people will buy it. It won't be required, but it will most certainly be available.
