NBA 2K14 to Feature Euroleague Teams

View all the new NBA 2K14 screenshots, featuring some of the Euroleague teams, right here.

NBA 2K14 has an exclusive multi-year global partnership with 14 of the top teams from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Those teams are seen below.

This is the first time Euroleague teams will be featured in the NBA 2K series and fans can play against NBA teams. No other features have been announced for the Euroleague teams, we might see more details later today.

One of the reasons my fellow Greek programmer/modder Lefteris (aka Leftos) was hired by 2k is this exactly: The addition of european teams.
I would like to see him comment here about this addition.
I guess 2k will make a new custom "Euro Sliders Set" to match the flow/pace of the european basketball. This is pretty easy : Contact inside/outside all way up to 90-100 (nearly every physical contact is a foul in Europe), game speed decreased, blocks decreased, on-ball defense increased.
Playbooks for these Euroleague teams are mostly variations of pick 'n' roll and some plays for good 3pt shooters.

I understand it was a teaser. But I also know a company would not purposfully show something if it wasn't going to be included in the game. Even though it was 2K13 footage it doesn't mention 2k13, just 2k14, and if you didn't play the previous version and just saw the teaser you would never know it was the older game, you would just take in the information you just saw.

2K are in control and know what they are doing. They wouldn't have included the things they did in the teaser if they didn't still have rights to the things in it.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading that MJ was signed to a 3 year deal to appear in 2k (2k11, 2k12, 2k13).

So last year might have been his last ?

I've seen this a lot and I just want to say that even if that was the initial contract he signed, there's no reason not to expect them to negotiate a new deal after seeing how successful the series has been since NBA 2K11. From a business perspective, it would make sense to sign a short term contract initially for both sides and then go from there.

Might have a teeny amount to do with him being....errr...i dunno....widely considered as the greatest player of all time...... 2k sales went off the CHARTS when he signed on.

WNBA should not be in the game. This is NBA basketball, there would be no use for WNBA at all.

Maybe because Jordan is constantly being compared (by the media,fans,etc) to the people that you just mentioned.

Those guys have been in the league during all those video games and 2K, or EA, when they get the rights to make a bball game, they get the right to use any active player. Jordan hasn't been active since 2003 which means there are different criteria to get retired players in the game.

Have never understood this kind of thinking, it is thoroughly illogical. If you do not like a feature in a game, don't use it. It does not affect you one shred of an iota if they include an optional feature that would increase the market the game appeals to. Basic kindergarten stuff here.

Because nobody will deny that as a human being MJ is a complete #$*(&#@(*$...but also, nobody will deny that MJ was uncomparable when at his best (which was 99% of the time).

Not really true.... I am, what internet keyboard warriors would call, a 'monumental MJ homer' But I can 100% admit he was a complete asswipe if we are to believe more than half the stuff we've been told about him over the years. But yeah, the guy was the greatest to ever step on the hardwood (In my opinion) so the opportunity to use him in a game after all these years blew 2k's popularity through the roof.

NBA2k is already huge in Europe especially in Spain, Italy, Greece and Eastern Europe in general. NBA has dedicated european fans for decades now.
I see many members of OS claim that the game must stick to the NBA. That's completely wrong. Don't you want the complete package? Many NBA teams arrange friendly matches with the top european teams every summer. Don't you want this option in pre-season in your Association? In addition, it's the perfect way to see and scout future NBA players and draft prospects by playing against them in european courts with the FIBA rules.
