NBA 2K14 News Post

The NBA 2K14 next-gen TV spot is live, with a new look at the next-generation of NBA 2K. The video shows off LeBron James in some insanely atmospheric lighting and then cuts to several gameplay sequences. A pretty exciting, although limited, look at the next generation of 2K basketball.

What did you think?

I don't think the spot implicitly says it's only next generation - pretty sure it says all the systems it's coming out for at the end of the video. While people following every nugget of information being dropped will make the distinction, a lot of people probably won't. I'd guess we'll see similar from Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc. (games releasing on both CG and NG).

Jeremy Lin Accessories are on point (coloured calve sleevs) Faces are insane, lebron's teeth showing, no mouthguard though! Loving the detail in the rims and nets!

While the graphics look impressive on the down side I wonder how 2K will translate these graphics into online experience, especially having in mind their terrible track record with the current gen (far less demanding) online services...

During the gameplay part of the video it specifically says "Actual Next Gen 2K14 game footage with variable camera angles"

There will be some peeps who get the game tomorrow after watching this video thinking that's what they gonna get.

That is the best hype trailer I have ever seen. The song, the digitized/real LeBron fading in and out so you can tell what is real and virtual, and then those faces oh my.

I feel confident in my pre-order choice.

In a small white font. While technically it does say its next gen footage... then at the end the biggest font is "available now".

Bosh still getting dunk on I see, lol. Jokes aside, this was an impressive teaser. I'm still disappointed that shoe on the right foot still has the mirrored logos and things. Gear looks pretty realistic, knee pads are at the correct length and socks are being worn over the calf sleeves, so that's nice. As far as the rest of the graphics, they are amazing. Ready for the real core gameplay footage.

I agree.

Similar to the point made about Battlefield and COD TV spots, most people generally don't pay attention when the spot has "PC gameplay shown" at the end or at some point throughout the footage.

One of the things i like is the upped the lighting, textures and resolution rendering to give it that clear/crispy look so yea 2k14 should look ALOT better then 2k13 current gen..FAR better

2k setting the bar for what a next-gen sports title should look like.

right, lol. People on here are funny. Meanwhile people are flipping out in the Madden forums because there are now 2 videos that look nothing like the next gen they promised. We need 2k Football back yesterday.

I will be the first to call out devs for laziness, but I'm kind of shocked to see all of the people hating on the trailer because of accessory length, sock color, crowd outfits ect...not so much here, but on youtube/facebook. Graphically, this is a MASSIVE improvement. Each person in the crowd looks more detailed than players use to be up until about 2k8. They look like actual individual people, and not just figures with a few polygons. The lighting is terrific as well.

How many fan boys can there be in this forum. First the trailer had like 5 seconds of the game so we didn't see anything, next it in no way graphically looked better then live, unless you like to stare at Harden's forehead wrinkles when you wank it, and finally they were pushing it off as current gen with the available now mark at the end which is pretty shady to me.

So glad you guys love this stuff so much, after buying it day one so many years count me out.
