Highly Realistic Golf Simulation Game - The Golf Club - Tees off Today on Steam Early Access

HB Studios Simulation, Complete with Course Creator and Social Features, Now Available on Steam Early Access for PC

Canadian video game developer, HB Studios, today announced its next generation golf simulation, The Golf Club, is now available on Steam Early Access for PC. The Golf Club features pre-designed courses as well as a Course Creator that allows players to build brand new courses and share them online within seconds. The Golf Club Early Access is available for $29.99, discounted from $34.99 for 7 days. Scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon, The Golf Club will redefine the genre across both console and PC platforms. For more information, including a host of instructional videos, please visit the official website here.

“With a heritage deeply rooted in building some of the most fun, intuitive and critically successful sport franchises on the EA Sports label, HB Studios are now excited to roll out the first phase of The Golf Club,” said Jeremy Wellard, President of HB Studios. “With integrated social features, a massive online multiplayer mode and a Course Creator that will provide players with endless challenges, avid golfers and gamers can now access The Golf Club on Steam Early Access.”

The Golf Club is designed for 1 - 4 players locally, (from single player to 4-player sofa play), or in an asynchronous online multiplayer mode that allows players to compete against “live balls” and “ghost balls” from other players. Early Access of The Golf Club comes complete with three modes: stroke play, match play and 4-ball, and no loading times between holes.

The Course Creator allows players to build an unlimited number of golf courses which can then be shared and played with friends online. New courses can be generated in a matter of seconds by selecting a theme (Rural, Alpine or Autumn), terrain features, number of holes and difficulty. Players can then enjoy a full suite of editing tools from changing the time of day to placing hazards and objects to create the ultimate golf challenge. Players can also discover new courses built by friends and the community by filtering through rank and difficulty, as well as interact with new The Golf Club members through the Message Center.

Additional social features enable players to challenge friends and attempt to beat high scores and best their own highest recorded rounds. Add to this a myriad of statistic tracking tools, notifications, challenges and much more, and you have a golf club truly worth joining. The Golf Club was developed with the Unity games development platform.

Just finished my first 18 holes finally, taking a break from the editor. What a blast, even though I got my butt kicked!

I played Cod, Macho, and some other guys ghostball at Knoll Down and won with +14 over, an 86!

Game is a blast and really tough!

EDIT::

Just played a custom course course against the same guys. Struggled to start but got it going on the back nine.

It's not a bad editor at all.
I'm sure it's mainly a "comfort" thing.
In any case I'm getting used to it and course is coming along. Not making a heavy on difficulty one at the start and just mainly learning certain things a little at a time.

Yeah the more I edit... the more I edit lol.

I'll play a round and start writing down things to edit/change..

I have done nothing all day but design my course (in between some chores)..
Thin line between making it a fun course and a "irritating" course.
Think this one I'm leaning towards fun but periodically challenging.

My next one I'll probably go more headache inducing.

By the way.. isn't it great that the trees in this game don't have stone leaves

Such a little thing like that adds a ton. Taking chances to go through the "90% air" is such a welcomed thing.
Anyways I never actually said how I like the game and so..
Love it. And it can (hopefully) only get better and better from here.

Can't wait to get some nice matches going.

Red I sent you a friend request on STEAM

Tried making a minigolf course. It seems like it's doable, just tricky. My first foray into the course designer so most of my time is spent struggling to figure out how to do anything, but beyond that I'm also struggling for just how difficult I can really make it & if it's even worth it. I mean, there's nothing stopping anybody from busting out a PW and just flopping their way to the hole, completely bypassing all the time I put into designing a crazy-slope green with a bridge over water.

Also, no windmill that I can find.

Rural Hills Out Now - By TheBleedingRed21

Rural Hills is officially published! Give it a go, but be aware, the putting is extremely difficult on this course, the greens are semi-fast (right between slow and fast setting) and break very much near the hole, some holes have a huge downslope on one side so be sure to always be putting uphill (as you would in real life)

Have fun and enjoy it!

Same here....I have a PC that will run it but some of the things guys have said about it, like the ball rolling forever with no way to skip and the ball trails not turning off, make me hesitant....but I've not had a golf game since Tiger Woods 2009 so....

If it had a tri-click option is have already bought it but alas, no such luck..how are you guys who have it controlling it? Mouse? Joystick? If a joystick, which one?

XBox 360 (wired) gamepad. The best choice there is for PC.

Using PS4 controller.
And I don't understand complaints about no skip option. I've yet been to the point of wishing there was a fast skip button.
No issues of a ball taking forever to stop etc.. yet.

The game is pure fun man and is still early in the games life.

Hopefully Falcon Play CC will be finished tonight
Going to give yours a go right now!

Edit: not seeing it yet
Edit 2: found it. Forgot you're not on friends list yet so didn't show up when I searched by friends.

3 - putted the first green...dammit Red!

Can't imagine trying to do this without the grid - need WAY more practice for that!

LOL yeah the greens are tough, but some is due to not knowing how much break is truly there.

Best tip: Use overview, go to green and gauge the slope and leave yourself an uphill putt.

I was able to shoot decent when testing but that was with overview, hopefully it is not too bad! LOL

+14....clearly I need more practice with this game's putting. This course was a big step up in difficulty from the other ones I've played.

Liked some of the hole layouts too - I got punished on that one long hole with the sand trap stretching across the fairway because I didn't get enough carry (landed right in the trap and I think I made double bogey), and also that short Par 3 that basically forces a draw shot on you. I think both me and sky hit the tree on that one.

Nice job Red. Very challenging, and it'll be a good one to practice and learn the game on.

Also, is it just me or the game running better after that update today? It's still no more than 30 FPS and still hitches during the ball flight, but on averages the frame rates seemed much better.

Is there anyway to change my golfers handedness to a lefty?

On the player/mode select screen, click edit player or press Y (or its equivalent on your controller). You can change to a lefty and edit several other golfer details as well.

Thanks. Another question. How do I aim my marker when in the marker view? I can only aim when I'm behind my golfer.

If you can, I don't know how - and I wouldn't be surprised if it's that way by design. I think that marker view is only supposed to show you the approximate landing area of where you're aiming your shot, not to help you fine tune your aim with it.
