NBA 2K14 Patch #5 Available Now, Patch Notes Included (PS4, Xbox One)

NBA 2K14 patch #5 is available now for the PS4. It should arrive for Xbox One users within 48 hours. Check out the patch notes below.

General

Voice Chat should now be much more reliable when three or more people on a team are voice-enabled.
Fixed an issue where users would not see server-based content (thumbnails in the store, NBA Today video, clothes in The Park) when signing into a first party account after having already booted the game.
Fixed an in issue in MyCAREER where an in-game save (specifically, in the game before you were set to receive your own signature shoe) would freeze when attempting to later load the file.
In MyCAREER, the On-Court Coach signature skill will now properly allow you to call plays when equipped.
In MyGM, fixed an issue where no players would appear (in specific circumstances) in the list when attempting to propose a trade.
Fixed in issue in Online Leagues that prevented some users from being able to matchmake against select other users. Online Leagues in general should be much more stable now.
Duplicate players (the same player from different years) are no longer allowed in the same lineup for a MyTEAM game, as was originally intended.
The default quarter length in MyCAREER has been reset to 6 minute quarters, as originally intended. Users are welcome to re-adjust as necessary.

The Park

Addressed an issue where specific player types were unable to complete alley-oops.
Users will no longer experience a freeze when loading into The Park after previously playing a different MyCAREER file that was terminated by quitting out of the Rookie Showcase.
Fixed an issue where players would sometimes stop moving or even skip/glitch around the court when spectating a game.
Fixed an issue where a game would sometimes disconnect when another player quit the match.
Players will no longer get stuck after lining up to start a game if another user drops/quits right as the game is about to start.
Addressed a very rare crash that would occur when users would spam their controllers while waiting on a �Got Next� spot.
Fixed an issue where a user playing on controller two will not up in The Park on other user�s screens.
A number of other smaller Park changes have been made to increase the stability and overall performance of this feature.

NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves.

I think it's even worse.

Before, the limit was 3 full quarters of highlights (you can tell by going to game stats and seeing the video highlights preview window which you can full screen by pressing X) at 8 min each, now it seems to die out at half time.

You can also tell there will be no highlights by checking instant replay to see if there's a directors cut version for the last play. If there isn't, no highlights for POTG at the end of the game.

My teammates in my career play defense a little bit better post patch, plus on the offensive end i can play more of decoy on the court as it seems my teammates make more plays without me being involved for long stretches.

I've only played 2 mycareer games so far but things look a lot better. My teammates actually make plays and the play calling works pretty well with on court coach. I haven't had to score so much and the other team isn't shooting 60% against me.
On another note, is anyone having trouble playing the Park? I haven't been able to play a single 5v5 game since the patch. It does this thing where all the players walk out to the court but the game never starts. After a while you go back and one of the got next spots is glitched. This only happened to me a couple times before the patch but now it happens every time.

May I ask, have the devs ever tried the game out? On basis do they decide to fix on-court coach signature skill and not the huge issue of your team not calling any plays at all?

Mind blown.

By the way, you still can't call plays without having the ball even with the on-coach signature skill.

Even then, it still doesn't work. Since plays aren't dynamic (ie being able to start a play with a non-PG handling the ball), you have to pass it to a specific player to get it started. Then as soon as you do, the play breaks.

I'm loving the patch,im seeing no more lag, more contact in the paint ,and better defensive rebound logic,it's made a world of difference for me.I only play online matches.

patch makes this game different but in a good way,

My post game was good before now its even better, I can score almost everytime now with Love when doing the moves correctly, I noticed more bumping animation on elite players (James, Durant, Melo) Game runs so smoothly now, plays works wonderful. I love this game before but now this game is amazing.

I'm still not getting a prompt to download anything and from reading this thread I know I'm not the only one, any ideas? Internet connection is top notch, playstation plus member up to date.. WTH ???

tbh, i never got prompted, it just d/l in the background, then i saw the notification on the PS4 homescreen and the file was already in the d/l tab and said ready to install.

Doesn't appear to be possible in MyGM. But you can edit the players in season mode. Season mode is accessed by pushing the LB or RB button (Xbox one). At the upcoming games screen, press the "B" button ( Xbox one) to bring up the menu items. Go into roster, and all players on all teams should have the option to be edited.

Finally got my patch and I can say the clearest changes I can see are to rotations and on ball defense.

-weak side rotates better to the restricted area and to the three point line

-on ball d syncing is improved. And recovery by the on ball defender to an offensive player whos backing up by the CPU is quicker. Still some pursuit angle problems.

-blocking is more responsive

-contact animations trigger a tad more

-dunks in traffic seem to happen more frequently

- CPU tendencies seem to matter more. Durant was crossing over and sizing up a mismatch. Lillard danced around a pick and found a jumper.

I've been playing mycareer in 12 min quarters into my second season. After the update it's been changed to 6 min quarters. I can't change it back. Does this mean I have to restart everything again? Spend some money on upgrading again? That's messed up.

Please fix it.

Only played one half after putting this down since Titanfall but I concur with this ...it just seems to play better alround...I'm hooked again !!

I am seeing some minor changes. One of which is the queued pass button. I have yet to have my guy pass the ball after a collision animation.
This has cut my turnovers down drastically. I may now create a point guard... again.

Also, the game score was not over 100. Haven't seen this in a long, long time.
