No EASHL, GM Connected, OTP, or Live The Life in NHL 15 on XB1/PS4 (Interview)

It’s official: EASHL, GM Connected, OTP, and Live the Life will not be in NHL 15.

The modes which will be in the game, will include play now, Be A Pro, Be a GM, Online Vs, Hockey Ultimate Team, and NHL Moments Live. The plan, as of right now, is to deliver Online Team Play via a patch after launch.

We sat down with Producer Sean Ramjagsingh to discuss why those modes were not included and to talk about the modes which are in the game. The discussion also turns to how to the team deals with community reactions and plans for the future of the franchise, which admittedly are quite exciting. See for yourself after the jump!

Alls I play is Playoff Mode and once they add , 3 Stars and edit players Im set as the gameplay is amazing !

You keep mentioning that and great for you. For a lot of other people their is unrest with what was included in the game at launch and even with the supposed patches that will be released they are still not happy with the game. And that is alright, too. Let the people ask what is in the game and let the people telling them answer their questions. If you are satisfied then play your game and be joyous.

You don't have to justify your happiness to everyone to make it real.

Playoff Mode
Create a custom offline tournament bracket with up to 16 teams from any of the 12 leagues in the game. Play or simulate each game and track player and team stats throughout the tournament.

Exactly this. I will copy and paste an answer from Rammer last year about why they were skipping next gen for NHL 14....

Question: I know there’s not going to be a next-generation version of NHL 14 this year. Was there a reason for this? Was there not enough lead time up to when your studio got the final build of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4? Or did you want to just make sure you had a better quality product to put out the following year?

Sean Ramjagsingh: "We wanted to be focused on putting out the best game for this console generation. It’s fantastic that we focused all of our efforts on PS3 and 360. The great thing about EA Sports right now is the sharing that we’re doing. The UFC and FIFA franchises; those guys are figuring out how to develop for next-generation consoles and the technological challenges that come with developing for new consoles.

So they have to figure that part out and then build features on top of that. For us, since we’re coming in later on, we won’t have to battle all those technological issues because they’ve figured them out already. This lets us focus more on the features which is something fans can appreciate…"
