That would be frustrating. I'm sitting here watching Europeans playing the demo on Live From Playstation app.

Lovely attitude. You're labeling people as casuals because they do not agree with you on the realism aspect of the game. Honestly mate, it WILL represent the real game well with sliders and this is coming from someone who can't be considered a "casual". In one post you stated: "Dribbling is not responsive enough." Are you willing to elaborate?

this is how ive always played defense on FIFA, how you have described defense should be played is completely accurate, which is why ive always played that way and never used contain or call second defender. always kept my back 4 behind the ball and ive had nothing but success. very good point you bring up.

Anyone notice a difference in headers, such as defenders having a better shot at clearing?

Winning a PK off a throw-in. 360 demo. Can't wait to try some of the little tricks I have learned on the one later tonight and see how they fare.

Very classy how the defender helped up the player he tackled. This game looks good even on old gen.

Most definitely.

And to really spin me around, I scored my first demo goal with sturridge off a headed corner kick.

Since that goal I have barely been able to connect a cross or corner kick to one of my players. I don't dislike this because now I get to figure out how to do it. This is better than OP crosses in 14.

The key is to figure out how to have some crossing success. I will post here if I learn something.

I'm extremely thankful I don't take video games as seriously as some in this thread. LOL. If I did, I'd probably never buy a video game.

Thanks to Hutton and a few others for actually posting some real impressions instead of just creating a pissing contest by ripping the demo apart. Wait, what's that? Oh yeah, just the "demo."

I'm patiently awaiting the PS4 demo, so I can give my own impressions of this sure-to-be-awful demo. ;-)

Although it looks like PES is getting back to it's best but only time will tell when the demo is released, been disappointed with them since 2008. But fifa... The midfield is non existent, you have the fastest players on earth being caught up by some of the slowest... I've just scored a goal with Raheem Sterling from about 40 yards out... I've had Fernando Torres score an absolute pile driver on his weak foot, as you say, Kompany being out jumped... The goalkeeping has been ok but still shocking in some areas... If you don't care much for soccer then I get it, it's fun but for me it's not accurately representing the sport at all.
ive never played PES, but all these posts i see about how it indeed is better simulation wise really makes me want to give it a go. ive been a hardcore fifa fan ever since i could remember, even though im from the states soccer (dont call it futbol cause im not gonna pretend like im from europe over here) has always been in my blood ever since i was born, my family came over from portugal so i literally breathe this sport, i never gave PES a shot because i never wanted to buy both games and always thought FIFA was better... now im considering trying PES cause i need that better experience, theres so many things wrong with FIFA, dont even get me started on the 50/50 balls MY GOODNESS. im not saying fifa is bad, its not by any means IMO, but its not enough either...

Yes, we get your point. Now please stop spamming the thread with it. If you keep going on like you are, it will go from simply annoying and condescending to being considered trolling by attempting to provoke a negative response.

Now for everyone, if you want to share your impressions great, but don't pitch a fit if others don't agree. And we go over this every year, but can we please keep impressions threads free of constant discussion of other games? Give your impressions of the demo/game you're actually playing. Thank you.

For those in the US, you can create a second account...just make up and address in a european city (i made one up in liverpool) and a fake email address and you can get the demo now for ps4 if you want. Just throwin it out there.

Hooray! Perfect CPU clearances that immediately start the counter don't happen nearly as much as prior versions of fifa. A video of a more typical CPU clearance this year.

http://youtu.be/XIVCQL3wyNc

And hooray again because the CPU slide tackles and fouls now!

And it seems that not just my CPU defenders walk around in a daze. Check out orange boots on Napoli.

These things are great, especially considering it's last gen. Are the fouls fairly rare, or do they seem like with 10-15 minute halves they'll be decent?

Once it's downloaded to the fake UK account, is it playable on my real US account?

Or do I need to play on the fake account?

The demo for PES is out next week... Give it a go I guess. From 1998 to 2007 they completely dominated the footie games market but they really did struggle with the next generation and FIFA seemed to really get interesting. FIFA 09 was so exciting for me. It's a good year (so people are saying) to get into PES, I guess it can't do any harm trying the demo dude. If you like buid up play, teams setting up like they would in real life, players actually having identity with how they move around the pitch and so on then you'll like it... Providing that PES get it right...

They seem at least they should be fairly decent, with a couple of cards at least per game. Again though, this is the Gamescom build so who knows what's changed since June or July(when the demo was most likely produced). That aside, I'm fairly confident it'll be better than the last few years.

I honestly think they will be decent.

One huge plus for me is I can draw fouls this year. As the ball comes to me I hold LB to "slow down time" this does one of two things in both CG and NG xbox versions.

1. it backs the CPU off, they are less inclined to get up in your face on defense

or

2. it draws them in but they become less precise with their aggression. LB lets me take these little micro touches that keep the ball from them and keeps my player between them and the ball.

point 2 creates the fouls. Just doing a lot of LB and LT pressing as I gather the ball baits the CPU into fouling.

It's how I drew that PK in the video I posted above. As the pass came in I held LB and waited for the CPU CB to move across my right hip then spun off him and towards goal. I caught him flat footed and he had no choice but to foul.

These things happened last year kind of but were never called fouls. Last year (and previous) the CPU would just man handle you off the ball with no chance of a foul being called.

Love the park the bus setting. Was up 1 with 20 min left and my AI teammates actually played defense without me having to do everything.
