NBA Live 15 News Post

EA Sports has released a new NBA Live 15 video showcasing the offensive improvements to the game. While it's not the 5 on 5 gameplay most of us were hoping for, at least we have something.

They have also posted a blog, going over the improvements to the AI with regards to fast breaks, pick and rolls and playcalling.

Watch the video, read the blog and post your thoughts.

I didnt derail ANYTHING, Check Twitter I Support BOTH Games.

I am Looking forward to 5 on 5 action, but I have talked to some EA Gamechangers and Fernando quite a bit, so I know the Live team is putting a Ton of effort into the game.

I think the way those 15 second clips we saw is how its actually gonna look in action, and if so, i wont be able to deal with that...
agree, the animations really look bad. very fake looking.. PS2, only in HD

people jumping for joy - have you seen how good the 2k animations are? This is what Live needs to aim for...

but..... yay, improvements for Live.

I havent gotten the Hunchback thing. I have seen it posted a few times. I am getting Older maybe my eyes are failing me. Do you mean when Players are Moving or Standing Still(like for jump ball or at Free Throw Line)?

Come on man m, it doesn't look like PS2

I'm not a fan of the animations but I don't think they should be trying to duplicate 2k, just improve on their own style and make them look more lifelike...

I said it looks like the HD version of PS2.. nothing next gen about it...

I didn't mean they should copy 2K.. but 2K is going for realism, and Live is going for robot basketball...

i suppose if that's what they are going for, then they are succeeding...

Also (trying to be as constructive as possible) I laughed a little when he mentioned "adding flare and style" to passing when showing some pretty basic one handed passes by CP3, Rondo, and Lowry. I don't need through the legs, behind the back or crazy White Chocolate dishes, but give your audience some credit when you laud your "freestyle passing" for more than what it is.

I personally like EAs style of animations when it comes to dribbling or any other movement. The other company sometimes seems too fluid, fluid to a point where it looks like gummy worms. NBA live gives a more sharp style of animation

Heh, my video froze at the exact second that Duncan's hand went right through the backboard at about 9 seconds.

Overall, it seems pretty good. I don't plan on purchasing this year, but I used to love Live growing up, so hopefully it keeps moving forward.

Exactly man. It just looks off.

If this is the style people want then good. But to say this looks realistic is just ridiculous.

To say 2k is unrealistic compared to this is just....

Even in the other game forums guys said 2k15 looks worse than 2k14 now live 15 looks like a ps2 game lol.

I promise you and this is true for every ps4 game , these games look 100x better in front of you .dont trust you tubes quality.

Great point! At this juncture, no one would walk by someone playing Live 15 and mistake you for watching an actual game, but I sill get that, when I'm playing 2K14, from friends.

To each his own. The two NBA game franchises have two different styles, and Live is making strides in the right direction. It still really makes me wonder what the developers were doing between Elite 11 and Live 14 that they took so many steps back in the gameplay department.

There are definitely arguments to be made when talking about similarties between PS2 iterations and Live 15, but I genuinely hope EA makes a strong comeback this year. I was impressed enough with the improvements with Madden 15 that I bought the game (when after last year I said I wouldn't buy another Madden), so anything is possible.

Bro, It's not the video quality at all. The animations just aren't realistic for me. Seeing this in 4k won't hide the fact that they just move like robots.

But hey people are happy with it.

Bro I'm talking about the graphics not animations calm down Why you think I mentioned the video quality

Let's be clear, Anything would be an improvement over last year, that game was horrible! Animations look better but they still seem very stiff,

# 77 RipCityAndy @ 10/01/14 05:15 PM
The animation transitions look WAY better. The rag doll physics in the paint is going to be awesome. Also, I'm glad they give us alternate views in the practice gym.

My one beef - that Kyle Lowry pass at 00:38 is terrible. It looks so awkward and unnatural.

that's what i knew you were referring to - that's why it wouldn't matter to me if i saw this up close because my ps2 reference was about the animations...

What is with all the trailers?

I hate to be negative but all of EA's trailers and still photo's look good.

That is not the issue....the issue is actual 5 on 5 gameplay.

Lets see one half or or even one qtr of actual 5 on 5 gameplay so we can judge the CPU AI ourselves and also the gameplay movement.

Seems like they are hyping up these trailers the way they did in years past to be their money maker and without showing any gameplay issues that might arise a week or two after you buy their product.

Come on EA it is really that much to ask for a full 5 on 5 gameplay clip????

I can show you Trailers going all the way back to Live 07 that looked awesome when edited

The video and game looks amazing. The graphics and animations are on point this year. The rag-doll physics look amazing and love how they activate around the paint. If we can get this for all interactions in the future for charges, shot contests so if you run into a shooter you see a dynamic animation and so on. This feature alone makes me amazed. Dear god they finally fixed those damn fast break animations of a player stopping when catching the damn ball, seems like we can actually run one this year.

Also what's with some of your guys complaints of robotic animations? Not saying they are not valid but can you provide some more detail then they just look robotic. I for one am amazed so far for the rag-doll physics aspect and how fluid it looks.
