The plan was to play a couple of minutes in freestyle mode to get used to the post and dribble moves, then one quick match before jumping into MyCareer. Now, 6 hours, later, I just finished another quick game. Just wanted to keep playing and see new match-ups, if that doesn't tell you the game is good, then what is?

A couple of things that got me really exciting:
- The fluidity of the game
- Went under some screens (2k15 habit) against Portland, Lillard instantly shooting 3's.
- Grizzlies - Warriors was a grindfest, most beautiful play was Gasol spinning off the post (yes you read it right, no fadeaway, he spinned!)
- Weave motion with the Golden State Warriors, handoffs
- Love the fact that Curry defended Allen instead of Conley, Thompson did a great job on the perimeter.
- The passing system is great, in combination with the footplanting system I can actually find a cutting or rolling player in the paint.

So many other things, but I dont want to waste any more time. Have fun everybody.

Do AI big men use post moves in the paint? Or is it the standard fadeaway and running hooks like we have seen in the past?

Only played one official game but it was nice! Played 87 Lakers vs 88 Pistons and let me tell you, I got roasted most of the game. My defense was getting eaten alive mostly from 2k15 habits and all the turnovers Magic had (was trying to get comfortable using the passing system). The ball really seems tangible this year and makes your mistakes not feel as frustrating. Also, on ball D is legit. I was guarding Dumars with Byron a few consecutive possessions and I was locking him up! It felt natural, and the same goes for when guards were blowing by bigs (Magic had a hard time guarding Isiah). Mismatches work as well. I was killing them using Magic in the post against Isiah and also Cap's skyhook was money over Laimbeer. The crowd got into it late when I came back but we fell short for lack of shooting and turnovers.

All in all, I think this could break into the top 2 2k's of all time.

P.S. I legit brainfarted on the jumpball timing

Only played 1 game but OMG! First thing I noticed game play wise is the jump ball timing was different. Then on my first position on defense I fouled lol. I was like ok I see now lol. I had to get use to the buttons but as a seasoned 2k player I still had a nice flow playing. All and all I can say work can't end soon enough so I can rebuild these knicks

Defense is definitely better. Harder to cross people and get to paint.

Played 2 games this morning.

First one on Pro and won easly.

2nd one on All Star and got killed by the Spurs. Aldridge is unstoppable, he was hitting jumpers from left and right.

My favorite thing is that you really have to work hard at getting past defenders this year. It feels very rewarding when you do.

Shooting meter is faster meaning you have to release the button earlier in comparison to last year.

Blocks I think are OP, I've had too many blocked jump shots. I played with A David and he had like 5 in one game.

Animations look beautiful

I love the fast break pace. Really just nice speed to it. Just remembering years before. Where the fastbreaks felt slow lol

I tried to play it like 2K15 without read it controls (Big mistake). That didn't work. Controls are different. Played 2 play now games. First one was against the Cavs. My Bulls couldn't hit a thing from outside. LBJ was the fastest strongest person out there. Lost by eight. Played against Spurs. Thunder had started hot and then Spurs got hot. One thing I learned is, dont bring weak stuff to hole. Spurs were blocking everything. KD had to put it to over time and pulled out the win.

This game feels much tighter that 2K15 Takes some time to get use to shooting again. Playing (EA Game) got me using the shoot button by accident. I'll spend a day or so reprogramming my brain.

Love this game.

I forgot to mention, I have never played 2k basketball and gotten as many shot clock violation as I got last night, that says a lot about the defense this year..lol

Interior D matters.

I played a game with Pachulia in the middle. He was ok, but seemed tethered to the ground.

I put DeAndre Jordan on the Mavs, and it was worlds apart. I just sagged back and altered shots and blocked a few.

In this same game Dirk was getting monstered down low.

p.s. Why couldnt he have signed with is IRL?

Same here. I was trying to work the ball around but Detroit changed up on the fly and I couldn't get the ball to Kareem anymore so I was stuck with taking bad shots.

Nice to see them spread the speed/quickness ratings out finally. Really putting a nice gap between athletes and non-athletes. CP3 is a 79 speed which is cool because he isn't a great athlete. Nice on there. I am OCD so of course I think I can adjust them.

Seems like their rating for contact dunks was sorta random. They kept them low surprisingly. I say we cap it off at 75. I will come up with a formula.

Also in edit mode, ratings and tendencies are grouped by Off, Def, Ath, Other
It's the one thing that 2k does every year that I love. Because freaks like Anthony Davis who has guard like speed. Was hard to get him to play like himself in the game. I totally agree with you this opens the doors every player to be very unique.

I remember just a few years ago when players like JR Smith felt like playing with LeBron James.

I played (and loved) NBA 2K games on PC since 2K9 and played it on keyboard. For an old dog like me, 2K16 is a new trick and it is something I do not want to learn. For me, this game is a big vaste and want to refund it via Steam. Not including keyboard mapping is such a huge matter to me. I waited almost desperately to play this, but now this game is just "meh" because some of us thinks that lack of keyboard support is such a big pick in the eye by Visual Concepts.

Also, the choice of which hand to finish with is in the game. After 15 years...finally

Love the feel of the game. Not sure on the passing and can't figure out how to throw an alley oop

Just press triangle twice on PS4 for the ally, there are a few tutorials in the options area...may want to take a look there...
