NBA 2K16 News Post

As mentioned earlier today, the NBA 2K16 patch #6 has already arrived for PlayStation 4 users, weighing in at 2.4GB. As soon as we get the patch notes, we will update this post. Until then, let us know what you are seeing.

Xbox One users will see the patch later, no official ETA has been given.

UPDATE: Here are the patch notes.
  • Updated player portraits for a number of players.
  • Tuned the effectiveness of long outlet passes for players with the Break Starter badge.
  • Delay branching from Kobe Bryant Back size-up.
  • Re-worked size-up dribble launches to prevent unnaturally explosive first steps.
  • Tune miss chances for deep downcourt and cherry picking.
  • Dock vertical and rebounding when you go behind the basket. Don’t reset 3-in-the-key offense timer in baseline behind paint for human controlled blacktop players.
UPDATE #2: The patch has arrived for Xbox One users.

UPDATE #3 (5-19): The patch is now available for PC users.

Its amazing how one person can be so vulgar without even accidentally making a good point. He says that they don't care about the game... only fixing cheese... isn't that the same thing? What developer fixes bugs and exploits and then gets called out in the same breath for not caring?

I don't envy the 2K devs at all

Just watching this MyPark gameplay makes me sick, I don't know how anyone enjoys this mode at all.

I honestly see nothing wrong w/ this animation. Hopefully next year 2K can find a way to showcase that again and also not allow players to speed boost all around the court back and forth.

You don't think that a step back move where the player puts both his feet together, and then instantly accelerates to full speed is maybe not so realistic?

And he did it once there, players were doing the little step backs like 5-10x to beat their man with it.

Preach man... I've read this whole thread like what the hell is a speed boost? I guess that's the beauty of playing offline.

I have a bad feeling this patch will cause the release of 2K17 to be catered to casuals due to the complaining.

Steph is already gonna be a cheat code, as he should be; imagine if driving is as simple as a "Speed Boost."

It's a quick pick up and play. If you have brothers or friends to team up with its actually quite fun.

Before the patch the way people played was just one vs one. The center would just do that pick move by the baseline and the other will just dribble dribble and drive. He'll either kick out to the open center when I help or he will just dunk. With the patch the ones who used to do this can no longer get past my brother lol

Good. Maybe this will force ball hogs to hit me in the post when I have good position. Probably not though

Without detailing it to much, there was a way to take certain dribble moves, and cross overs and cancel part of the animation for an unnaturally fast dribble. It's completely different than the launch animations. Essentially because there's no difference between Jog/sprint animations other than sprint being faster. Essentially you could go from standstill to full sprint instantly with no start up other than a brief pause.

A lot if people have mistook this for "Launching out of a dribble" or "First Steps", which it was not. Only certain animations could get it. I've deleted so many guys off the friends list after getting involved in a bunch of group messages about "This game dead, 2k don't know Basketball".

I'm surprised at how many people in this thread were unaware of speed boosts.

Just shows why the forum can be so disconnected on issues at times .

This is a patch 6 rant

He didn't think 2k could do it, but they ruined the game. (He also has a video that says patch 3 ruined the game) that pops up when you watch this one.

He isn't mad about speed boosting, everyone knows he's not a cheeser, you can verify this by watching his old videos.

Follows that up by saying: He didn't start speed boosting until patch 3

'All 2k cares about is getting rid of cheesers', they dont care about My Park, only MYTEAM

Not really he is more so saying he is mad that the only time 2k updates the park is to do stuff Like this but other than that they ignore the mode and it never revives new content or anything special unlike the other modes like my team

With 14 teams already qualifying using nothing but break starter? Way to go. I would love to run into a top 10 team and see them sailing passes out of bounds EVERY DEFENSIVE REBOUND

The only person in the league that is even close and still needs a jogging start for that type of explosion is Westbrook, smh.

Why can't people learn how to play ball instead of finding certain button combinations to excel... this isn't Mortal Kombat.

Its not that much of an issue outside 2v2 or 3v3 at park. In 4v4 park already that exploit is greatly diminished by lack of space to spam it. But its a great move by 2k removing it regardless.

Lol no most park scrubs don't know u can post up so I wouldn't get my hopes up they seem to think points can only some from dunks and threes and they won't count of a big does it

The park is back baby!

Went on a nice run last night, spurred by great defense. Guys dribbling back and forth for 15 seconds were being PUNISHED. We were taking people playing selfishly apart. Even the losses felt better.

Props to the team for continuing to support the game this late into the cycle.

What new content could the park get? Its not like MyTeam where players can be added.

I assume more stuff in the shops? I'll be honest, I don't check the shop often and see how much it's updated.

It's not really the point though, there's no logic behind dudes rant at all...he's just mad his go to move was taken away. I was reading comments under that "hell naw" video and random commenters were talking about how mad he would be, like that's what he's known for and all he has in his arsenal, lol.

Anyway, I really wanted to know how some PNO guys feel about the patch....a lot of the lesser publicized changes have made a big difference for me..

I don't really know I'm not a huge park player but he was saying they need a better way to get rep outside of playing 10k park games to hit legend 5 which if anyone hits is certified no life tbh so I kinda do see his point but at the same time...

One thing he does have a point about though. For positions in height 5'10-6'7 it's best to make a PG. no sense in making a SF from a competitive stand point. For bigs there is no point in making a Power Foward when centers have all the advantages .

That's good man it's definitely possible compete and work your opponents as a 6'7 SF.

I'm convinced that a lot of you never played real ball before. Its not easy as 1,2,3 to blow by someone. I'm 5'7 182lbs and I can keep up with shorter faster ball handling guys just fine. Even Kyle Kover & Mike Dunleavy don't get completely blown by. Btw running plays is great for freeing up your superstars instead of running isolation all day
