I'm playing on the PS4 Pro....just in RTTS and the bat sound is there. The bat sound on mine sounds almost like you are batting with a hollow bat. It's strange. When I first started playing after the patch I didn't notice right away but as I rolled through a few games I could really notice.

After playing yesterday afternoon I also do not notice through about a month of games any difference in the RTTS manager interactions or progression. Maybe it doesn't affect RTTS....but I also can tell no difference in homeruns distance or frequency.

Yeah I didn't think it would be different between the 2 consoles and that's exactly how it sounds to me, as if your using a hollow bat, hopefully the fix comes soon

On a side note.... I also noticed that I rarely get through a RTTS game that I do not have runners advance on a past ball/wild pitch or a bobbled catch by catcher. It's usually multiple times in some games.

I hardly think it's an agenda to point out something that's clearly wrong with the game and hadls been confirmed as such by SDS

Let me backtrack on the homerun distance info.... as it may be too small a sample to say that with certainty. I did notice my RTTS left fielder seem to be hitting fewer towering shots and more line drive type homeruns and some high ones that barely clear wall. As for the other players and opponents.... I didn't see that affected them much.... especially a couple I watched Freddie Freeman hit.

I'm on pro, but I didn't blatantly noticed it when I played earlier. Granted my TV sound wasn't turned up really loud either. I'll play again here in a little with headphones on to see if I can hear it.

Unless I read it wrong, I believe you have to reach level 50 for silver. I'm currently in a game and can't check.

I play with sony golds and the MLB 17 Show audio app installed into them. Clear as day. There are no dynamics anymore to the sound of the bat. It sounds like a 16 bit cracked bat sound every single hit.

The sweet sound of grooving a solid hit has been removed unintentionally. Obvious bug. Glad it is being patch ASAP. It really kills the immersion and feel of hitting in a massive way. Hitting feels off since the patch. And I directly attribute it to the sound of the bat. It can have a huge effect on perception and reception. I have hit some amazing ropes and bombs post patch...just like pre patch. Ball physics still look amazing, but the sounds are depressing. I am not feeling it anymore because it simply sounds like a dead bat (cracked, broken) every time the ball comes off the bat.

And everyone knows how big of a supporter of this game I am. I have no agendas at all.....never had never will.

It is simply an audio bug and thankfully they know about it and will repair it ASAP.

Glad they listen and respond. They are the best development team in sports gaming folks. They will get it right again.

I'm playing with the platinum's and audio app as well. I noticed the sound also when I disconnected headphones to charge and played with audio through TV.

Well I'm level 20 gold and I definitely had to get to level 100 bronze to become a silver, then 100 silver to get to gold

Appreciate the replies, BigOscar. I must be misunderstanding how the universal profile works. Do you have to get to "Bronze 100" before moving up to Silver? That might be why I can't change mine currently. But I could have sworn it says you must reach level 50 to attain the silver nameplate?? I'll double check once I finish my game.

Yup, you automatically move up when you get to 100 and become level 1 again in the higher bracket. I might be wrong, but I think you get the silver profile thingy for being silver level 50, which might be where the confusion is coming from?

Well it's April 26 and still can't start a franchise. Nats sounds off. Wild pitches. SP being pullled. Power is nerfed now so I feel I'm playing in the dead ball era. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable

And while I still believe that '17 is a very good game, it's just not the game for me. I don't know how else to explain it other than '16 still provides me with a better experience. Something about '17 just seems "off", and I really wish I could explain further but I really am not sure how.

I really want to like '17 and will continue to try it out here and there, especially after patches, to see how it plays, but for now, I think I'm just going to roll with '16.

'17 is a very good game, its just not the game for me.

Tempted to plug MLB 16 back in and see how it feels vs. this year and all that's going on. Which OSFM rosters do you use country?

I don't see the nerfed homeruns. I played a few games last night and hit 2 to 4 homers each game on hof zone. Ellsbury blasted two 450 plus bombs.

I think a very important thing to remember with this patch, is that we all need to take a breath, step back and play the game.

Does anyone realize that post-patch, the real Mariners and Tigers combined for 28 runs last night, King Felix got lifted in the second inning and there were three HR, two of which traveled over 400 feet?

Maybe no one realized that the real Nationals and Rockies combined for 27 runs five homeruns, and a cycle?

Obviously the patch has ruined the real MLB...

Or maybe, because baseball is a game of everyday occurrences and peaks and valleys, its just... baseball.

I played three games yesterday post patch.

I beat the Yankees 6-4 with Porcello going 8.2 innings, but had to bring in Kimbrel to get the last out, as Rick just lost the zone and his control. Moreland hit two monster shots, I got the pull-back cam on both, and it was a glorious cloudy day at Fenway.

I immediately fired up the rematch, and the Red Sox could not hit the ball to save their lives. They lose 2-0 with the same line-up, same pitching match up, and exact same set up.

I then played a game with the daily rosters, going into the time machine to Sunday afternoon with Boston playing at Baltimore, and E-Rod dominated with eight strikeouts, but a costly error, and a Machado blast cost the Sox, and they lose 3-2 in what might have been my favorite game I have played this year, based on the ebb and flow, and the situations of high stress... it was just a thing of beauty.

So, post patch, three games, three entirely different outcomes, and I LOVE this game.

Some of you will remember, with fondness, a certain game from 2004-2005 that had a toggleable option called "Variable Stuff". The explanation was that there may (or not) have been some dice-rolls that were handled within the game engine, that had some sort of influence on the batting, the pitching, and the overall flow of the game.

Sometimes I wonder, when you can play two games back to back with the exact same set up, if there is something within the game that makes the batter's PCI's just a little smaller or larger. Maybe the timing window gets a tweak towards to larger, easier side. Maybe the Classic Pitching Timing becomes a little more lenient, and your pitcher dominates?

If so, I don't care to know, because this is how baseball works. Sometimes in the pen before a game, you know that your pitches are filthy, the ball just feels perfect in your hand, your fingers find the spot on the seams where you just know and feel that you are going to be a force to be reckoned with, and it just happens. You can't explain it, and you can't duplicate it. It just is.

So guys who loaded up the patch, played one game, and had four homeruns and ten runs against them, and took to the internet to say the patch broke the game, take a look at the sports section today, and see what happened in real baseball after the patch.

I refuse to let the soon to be patchable-issues ruin it for me, I refuse to get sucked into the fold of doomsday nonsense that folks are spouting off about, and I refuse to let the well-known( not-fixed) issues of the WP/Past Ball/catcher block and throw problems ruin this game for me.

I have my slider set running this game perfectly, I do not play with headphones, so I can live with the bat sound issue until they tweak it, I see the right amount of errors, the right amount of double plays, flair hits, screaming liners, bombs, and wall-scrapers.

In short, I see a baseball game.

This is a game fellas. A $60 masterpiece that if played like a baseball game, does a fantastic job of recreating the best game on the planet. So taking to the soapbox and whining, and complaining that the matte finish on the away helmets of your favorite team, is a little too dull, is silly.

Complaining that when you zoom into the ivy on the wall at Wrigley, there out to be four veins in the ivy leaves, not three... is silly.

The bottom line is that aside from some of the quirks that we are working around this year, the game still kicks butt. And is, for me, in my opinion, the best replication of the real game there has ever been.

Play the game, have fun, and take a deep breath.

It'll be okay.

I don't use any OSFM rosters. I use my own.

Obviously we all have different issues because we all have different styles of play. For myself, I would gladly listen to the bat sound all day and night as it is. It doesn't bother me at all. I can see how it would for those that crank the volume or listen through headphones and surround sound.

I don't care about the color of uniforms, shoes, bats, or even some stadium issues. But I can understand how others do. Any issue which lessons the joy of the game for any player is important and they should be allowed to voice their opinion without fear of being ridiculed, threatened or criticized. They spent hard earned money for the game and have certain expectations from it.

These issues do not bother me because they have nothing to do with the outcome of games and yet they are important features to others. What is important to me is the impact of things that have an effect on games such as the QC SP and RP sim logic. That has a huge affect on the game play itself and the stats for offline franchise play.

To me, this is the number one priority. And yet for others, they may not see it as an issue all. Which is perfectly fine because as I said, The game is a different experience for all of us. But to point fingers at those that express their opinions and ridicule them because some think they are complaining about nothing is wrong. This is supposed to be a community and everyone has a right to post their thoughts as long as they stay within the rules regardless of how unimportant some may think there reasons are.

If someone takes the time to write a post, they must have a reason for expressing their opinion of the game. If you can’t do that, Why bother to be here. ?
