Redshirt sophomore RB Joey Novak has been lost for the season team officials have announced. Novak was injured during a kick return against Washington State. Team officials stated Novak suffered a ruptured disc in his back and described the injury as very painful. Novak is not expected to need surgery. On the year, Novak returned 10 kicks for 288 yards, and 6 punts for 39 yards. WR Carl Battle is expected to take his place on the return team.
